Ropeadope has announced soundtrack album for the drama Windows on the World. The album features a spoken word track from Abiodun Oyewole (The Last Poets), as well as original jazz music from members of the SFJAZZ Collective including Eric Harland, David Sanchez, Edward Simon, Obed Calvaire, Robin Eubanks, Matt Penman, Taylor Eigsti and Ethan Iverson (The Bad Plus). West Hall Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the Academy Award-winning Netflix original documentary Icarus. The album features the film’s original music composed by Adam Peters (Savages, Snowden, Sand Castles) . The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 23 and will be available to download here. Icarus is directed by Bryan Fogel and follows the filmmaker and amateur bike racer as he plunges into a vast doping scandal involving a Russian scientist – Putin’s most-wanted whistleblower. The documentary premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and was released later that year before receiving the Academy Award in 2018 in the Best Documentary category. Nicholas Britell has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original movie The King. The film is directed by David Michod (Animal Kingdom, The Rover) and stars Timothée Chalamet, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson, Lily-Rose Depp, Tom Glynn-Carney and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie. The historical drama is inspired by elements of Shakespeare’s Henry IV and Henry V and tells the story of Hal, a wayward prince, as he ascends the English throne upon his father’s death, and must navigate the palace snake pit, and inherited war and chaos. Lambs of God is written by Sarah Lambert, directed by Jeffrey Walker and stars Ann Dowd, Essie Davis, Jessica Barden and Sam Reid. The 4-parter is based on the Australian novel by Marele Day and centers on the three Sisters of St Agnes as they must defend their very existence when a young priest with a hidden agenda suddenly arrives at their dilapidated monastery. Rai Com has released a soundtrack album for the limited series The Name of the Rose. The only movie opening nationwide this week is Disney’s The Lion King remake directed by Jon Favreau and starring Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, JD McCrary, Shahadi Wright Joseph, John Oliver, Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner. The film’s original score is composed by Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, The Dark Knight) who also serves as the executive music producer on the project. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the movie’s songs written by Elton John & Tim Rice (including a new song), as well as an original song by Beyoncé. Opening in limited release is the documentary David Crosby: Remember My Name directed by A.J. Eaton and produced by Cameron Crowe. Marcus Eaton and Bill Laurance have composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie follows the singer-songwriter as he confronts mortality and assesses all the damage of earlier days. The movie follows the title character as he must confront his past and unearth his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission.
