Hildur Guðnadóttir was honored with her first Academy Award for her score for Todd Phillips’ Joker at tonight’s 92nd Oscar ceremony. The composer who previously received a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award for her work on the film was also nominated the first time. Check out her acceptance speech after the jump. ‘Colewell’ Soundtrack to Be Released

Notefornote Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama Colewell. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dara Taylor. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 14 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Colewell is written and directed by Tom Quinn and stars Karen Allen, Kevin J. O’Connor, Hannah Gross and Catherine Kellner. The movie revolves around a woman who has been the postmaster of Colewell, Pennsylvania for 35 years. Nathan Larson (Boys Don’t Cry, Dirty Pretty Things, Margin Call, Juliet, Naked) is composing the original score for the new Hulu original series High Fidelity. The show is developed by Sarah Kucserka & Veronica West and stars Zoë Kravitz, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David H. Holmes, Jake Lacy and Kingsley Ben-Adir. The comedy is inspired by Nick Hornby’s 1995 book and Stephen Frears’ 2000 feature of the same title and follows a female record store owner in the rapidly gentrified neighborhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love. The only new movie opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the comic book movie Birds of Prey directed by Cathy Yan and starring Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett, Ewan McGregor, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco and Ali Wong. The film’s original score is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs). The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Lele Marchitelli (The Great BeautyLoro) who has previously scored HBO’s 2016 series The Young Pope. Sony Classical has released the traditional folk and gospel song I Am a Poor Wayfaring Stranger as featured in Sam Mendes’ World War I drama 1917. The track is performed by actor Jos Slovick and was arranged by Craig Leon. Three versions of the song are now available to stream and download as a digital single on Amazon. The 10th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards were handed out on Thursday night at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. Mary Ramos received the top honor in the Best Music Supervision in Motion Picture – Motion Picture Over 25M for her work on Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Kier Lehman received the award in the Motion Picture Under 25M category for his music supervision on Melina Matsouka’s Queen & Slim. Meghan Currier and Randall Poster were honored in the Motion Picture Under 10M category for their music supervision on Trey Edward Shults’ Waves and Terri D’Ambrosio took home the prize in the Motion Picture Under 5M category for her work on Joe Talbot’s The Last Black Man in San Francisco.
