Composer Joseph Bishara is reuniting with director James Wan on the upcoming horror thriller Malignant. The film stars Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Jake Abel, Jacqueline McKenzie and Ingrid Bisu. No plot details have been announced yet. Akela Cooper (Hell Fest) and JT Petty (The Burrowers) wrote the screenplay based on a story by James Wan & Ingrid Bisu. Wan (Aquaman, Furious 7) is also producing the Atomic Monster, Starlight Media, New Line Cinema production with Michael Clear (Swamp Thing, MacGyver). Bishara has previously collaborated with the director on the Insidious and The Conjuring films. He also scored the Wan-produced Annabelle, Annabelle Comes Home and The Curse of La Lllorona. Malignant is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on September 10, 2021 by Warner Bros. Pictures and will also be available to stream on HBO Max on the same day.

Bishara also has the Wan-produced horror sequel The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It coming up. He also recently scored The Unholy, which is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
