The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Stefan Will (Phoenix, Transit, The State I Am In) & Marco Dreckkötter (Rammbock, 4 Blocks, Blood Glacier). Freud is created by Marvin Kren, Benjamin Hessler & Stefan Brunner and stars Robert Finster, Ella Rumpf, Georg Friedrich, Brigitte Kren, Christoph F. Krutzler, Anja Kling and Philipp Hochmair. The 8-part thriller follows a hungry young Sigmund Freud, eager to make his name in 19th-century Vienna, as he joins a psychic and an inspector to solve a string of bloody mysteries. Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, March 23 is the Australian mystery drama Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears directed by Tony Tilse and starring Essie Davis, Nathan Page, Miriam Margolyes, Ashleigh Cummings, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, Rupert Penry-Jones, Daniel Lapaine and Jacqueline McKenzie. The film’s original music is composed by Greg J Walker (Newton’s Law) who is also the composer of the Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries TV series. LilliPilli IP has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last month when the movie was released in Australia. Premiering on Tuesday, March 24, is the NBC drama Council of Dads created by Joan Rater & Tony Phelan and starring Sarah Wayne Callies, Clive Standen, J. August Richards, Michael O’Neill, Michelle Weaver, Steven Silver, Emjay Anthony, Thalia Tran and Blue Chapman. Fil Eisler (Revenge, Empire, How to Be SingleUnRealProud MaryCHiPsLife of the Party) is composing the show’s original music. Notefornote Entertainment has released a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Nefarious. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Griffiths (68 Kill, Lancaster Skies, Dogged, The Drift). Nefarious is co-written and directed by Richard Rowntree and stars Toby Wynn-Davies, Nadia Lamin, Buck Braithwaite, Gregory A Smith, Abbey Gillett and Omari Lake-Pottinger. Dan Marocco (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Demonic, Brotherhood, NTSF:SD:SUV) is scoring the upcoming Quibi original series Flipped. The show is created by Steve Mallory (The Boss) & Damon Jones and stars Will Forte, Kaitlin Olson, Eva Longoria, Arturo Castro and Andy Garcia. The comedy follows a chronically underemployed couple and self-proclaimed home renovation “experts” whose dreams of basic cable fame and glory are derailed when they get themselves kidnapped by members of a drug cartel and are forced to renovate their sprawling homes. As there are currently no new major movies opening in theaters, the weekly film music roundup will feature notable titles that were set to receive a theatrical release and are instead being released on VOD over the next couple of weeks. Movies that are premiering exclusively on streaming services will keep being included in our weekly TV music roundup every Sunday.

Opening on VOD following its debut on DirecTV last month is the drama Human Capital directed by Marc Meyers, written by Oren Moverman and starring Liev Schreiber, Marisa Tomei, Peter Sarsgaard, Maya Hawke, Alex Wolff, Paul Sparks, Aasif Mandvi and Fred Hechinger. The film’s original music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (WonderFencesThe Good Shepherd, The Affair, Ray Donovan, Enough Said). No word on a soundtrack release. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the new Disney Junior original series Mira, Royal Detective. The album features the original songs from the show written by Matthew Tishler (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) and Jeannie Lurie (The Muppets), including the theme song, as well as Mira’s signature song We’re on the Case, which is arranged by series music consultant Deepak Ramapriyan. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Mira, Royal Detective is inspired by Indian cultures and customs and features the voice talent of Freida Pinto, Kal Penn, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Hannah Simone, Jameela Jamil and Leela Ladnier. Nainita Desai (For Sama, Enemy Within, Telling Lies, Darkness Visible) is the composer of the upcoming Quibi original series Fierce Queens. The show is narrated by Reese Witherspoon and takes an in depth look at female animals: the rebel matriarchs, powerful leaders and dangerous lovers of the natural world. The docu-series aims to depict the most dramatic natural history stories from a fresh female perspective.  Jo Shinner (Earth from Space) is executive producing the BBC Studios Natural History Unit production. BMG has released original song Lost Girl from the Netflix original film Lost Girls. The track is performed by singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams who also co-wrote it with Tom Overby. The song is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump.
