Director Mira Nair has revealed on Twitter that Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Roots, 11.22.63, Touching the Void) and Anoushka Shankar are currently scoring the upcoming BBC series A Suitable Boy. The show is developed by Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’ Diary, War & Peace, Les Misérables) based on Vikram Seth’s classic novel of the same title and stars Tabu, Tanya Maniktala and Ishaan Khatter. The 6-parter is directed by Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding, Vanity Fair, The Namesake) tells the story of a spirited university student who is coming of age in North India in 1951 at the same time as the country is carving out its own identity as an independent nation. The anthology series follows a different protagonist’s quest for love each season, with each half-hour episode telling the story of one of their relationships. David Menke (Skylines) and the French rock band The Limiñanas have composed the original music for the new Netflix original film The Last Days of American Crime. The film is directed by Olivier Megaton (Taken 2 & 3, Colombiana, Transporter 3) and stars Edgar Ramírez, Michael Pitt, Anna Brewster and Sharlto Copley. The thriller is based on the Radical Publishing graphic novel by of the same title by Rick Remender & Greg Tocchini and centers on a bank robber who joins a plot to commit one final, historic heist before the government turns on a mind-altering signal that will end all criminal behavior. Opening in virtual theaters and on VOD today is the British musical comedy drama Military Wives directed by Peter Cattaneo and starring Kristin Scott Thomas, Sharon Horgan and Jason Flemyng. The film’s original score is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Crown, His Dark Materials, Bad Boys for Life). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie performed by the film’s cast and the Military Wives Choirs back in March when the film opened overseas. Also opening on VOD today is the thriller Survive the Night directed by Matt Eskandari and starring Chad Michael Murray, Bruce Willis, Shea Buckner, Tyler Jon Olson, Lydia Hull, Riley Wolfe Rach, Jessica Abrams, Sara Lynn Holbrook and Jef Holbrook. Nima Fakhrara (The Signal, Detroit: Become Human, The Pyramid, The Girl in the Photographs) has composed the film’s original music. ‘Capone’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Capone. The album features the film’s original score composed by Grammy-nominated Run the Jewels producer and rapper EL-P. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, May 29 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl edition is also in the works. Capone is written and directed by Josh Trank and stars Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan, Noel Fisher, Jack Lowden and Kathrine Narducci. The movie centers on Al “Fonzo” Capone, a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist and was the most infamous and feared gangster of American lore.
