Amie Doherty (Undone, Battle at Big Rock, The High Note, Here and Now) has signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Spirit Riding Free. The film directed by Elaine Bogan (Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters & 3Below) is based on DreamWorks Animation Television’s Netflix original series of the same title, which was itself inspired by the 2002 feature Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (scored by Hans Zimmer and featuring songs by Bryan Adams). The movie follows Lucky Prescott as she is forced to move from her big city home to a small frontier town, where she becomes a complete fish-out-of-water, makes new friends and forms an inseparable bond with a wild mustang named Spirit. The track is written and performed by the Belgian band Puggy who also scored the movie, as well as the previous film in the franchise, The Son of Bigfoot. Matt Bowen has composed the original score for the upcoming Hulu original film The Binge. The movie is directed by Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer) and stars Skyler Gisondo, Eduardo Franco, Dexter Darden, Vince Vaughn, Hayes MacArthur, Affion Crockett and Grace Van Dien. The comedy is set in a time where all drugs and alcohol are illegal, the only day anyone can participate in the “fun” is on Binge day. Jordan VanDina wrote the screenplay. Garelick is also producing the American High production with Will Phelps (Big Time Adolescence), Mickey Liddell (Jackie, The Grey), Pete Shilaimon (I Can Only Imagine, Risen), Nicole Stojkovich, Ryan Bennett and Michael Schade. The full details of the soundtrack album for Rod Lurie’s war drama The Outpost have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Larry Groupé (The Contender, Commander-in-Chief, Resurrecting the Champ, Nothing But the Truth, Straw Dogs). Also included is the original song Everybody Cries written by Groupé & Lurie and performed by Rita Wilson. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, July 28 by Millennium Media and will be available to stream/download here. La-La Land Records will release a CD version, which will be available to order on the label’s website on August 4. The Outpost is directed by Lurie and stars Scott Eastwood, Orlando Bloom, Caleb Landry Jones, Kwame Patterson and Cory Hardrict.
