Silva Screen Records has announced the details of the new soundtrack album for the HBO/BBC series His Dark Materials. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown, Home, Genius). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Sunday, December 20 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. The label has previously released two concept albums featuring the composer’s principal themes from Season 1 & Season 2 and a full separate album featuring his score from the first season. Season 2 of His Dark Materials is based on The Subtle Knife, the second book in Philip Pullman’s fantasy trilogy, and stars Dafne Keen, Ruth Wilson, Lin Manuel-Miranda, Joe Tandberg, Ruta Gedmintas, Helen McCrory, Terence Stamp, Jade Anouka, Andrew Scott and Simone Kirby. The new season currently airs in the UK Sunday nights on BBC and in the U.S. Monday nights on HBO and is also available to stream on HBO Max.
