John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Happy Feet, Chicken Run, X-Men: The Last Stand) has announced the track list for the deluxe edition soundtrack album of Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thandie Newton and Paul Bettany. The album features the Academy Award-nominated composer’s expanded original score from the movie, including over 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. John Williams provided the Han Solo Theme. Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French drama Madre. The album features the film’s original music composed by Olivier Arson (The Candidate, May God Save Us, The Zone). Madre is co-written and directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen based on his Academy Award-nominated short of the same name and stars Marta Nieto, Jules Porier and Alex Brendemühl. The movie is written and directed by Ben Falcone (The Boss, Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Octavia Spencer, Pom Klementieff, Melissa Leo and Tyrel Jackson Williams. The comedy is set in a world overrun with super-villains and follows two childhood friends who reunite to battle the Miscreants that threaten to destroy Chicago. Wave Theory Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1977 drama 3 Women directed by Robert Altman and starring Shelley Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Janice Rule. The album features the original country music from the movie were written by Altman’s long-time associate and friend, Allan Nicholls, alongside the film’s music editor, Tom Walls, and songwriter Jeff Wilson and performed by the Desert Centre Country Band and supporting vocal performances from Vince Gill, Marti Gwynn, Jo Ann Harris, Janis Oliver, John Considine and Nicholls himself. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the HBO original series Lovecraft Country. The album features selections of the original score from all episodes of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Laura Karpman (Step, Set It Up, Why We Hate) and Raphael Saadiq (Underground, Insecure, Black Nativity). Also included are the songs from the horror drama performed by actors Wunmi Mosaku and Jurnee Smollett, as well as Alice Smith’s cover of Nina Simone’s Sinnerman. National Geographic’s ‘The Real Right Stuff’ to Feature Original Score by James Everingham

Disney+ announced this week that National Geographic’s upcoming documentary The Real Right Stuff will feature an original score composed by James Everingham (Heroes, Grand Prix Driver) for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. The composer’s orchestral score was recorded remotely by a socially distant 44-piece orchestra this past May. The movie is directed by Tom Jennings (Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes) and tells the true story of the nation’s first astronauts, the original Mercury 7.
