John Powell (How to Train Your DragonThe Bourne IdentityShrek, Happy Feet, Chicken RunX-Men: The Last Stand) has announced the track list for the deluxe edition soundtrack album of Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Thandie Newton and Paul Bettany. The album features the Academy Award-nominated composer’s expanded original score from the movie, including over 40 minutes of previously unreleased music. John Williams provided the Han Solo Theme. Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French drama Madre. The album features the film’s original music composed by Olivier Arson (The Candidate, May God Save Us, The Zone). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Madre is co-written and directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen based on his Academy Award-nominated short of the same name and stars Marta Nieto, Jules Porier and Alex Brendemühl. Composer Fil Eisler (Empire, Revenge, How to Be SingleCHiPs, UnReal, The Titan) is reuniting with director Ben Falcone on the upcoming Netflix original film Thunder Force. The movie is written and directed by Ben Falcone (The Boss, Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Octavia Spencer, Pom Klementieff, Melissa Leo and Tyrel Jackson Williams. The comedy is set in a world overrun with super-villains and follows two childhood friends who reunite to battle the Miscreants that threaten to destroy Chicago. The album features the film’s original music composed by Grant Fonda (Down the Fence, The Dating Project Power of the Air). Amelia Warner (Mary Shelley, Mum’s List) has recently recorded her score for the upcoming romantic drama Wild Mountain Thyme. The film is written and directed by John Patrick Shanley (Doubt, Joe Versus the Volcano) and stars Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm, Dearbhla Molloy and Christopher Walken. The movie is based on Shanley’s Broadway play Outside Mullingar and centers on two obstinate star-crossed lovers whose families are caught up in a feud over a hotly contested patch of land that separates their two farms. Wave Theory Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1977 drama 3 Women directed by Robert Altman and starring Shelley Duvall, Sissy Spacek and Janice Rule. The album features the original country music from the movie were written by Altman’s long-time associate and friend, Allan Nicholls, alongside the film’s music editor, Tom Walls, and songwriter Jeff Wilson and performed by the Desert Centre Country Band and supporting vocal performances from Vince Gill, Marti Gwynn, Jo Ann Harris, Janis Oliver, John Considine and Nicholls himself. Fablemaze has released a soundtrack album for the British horror thriller Eve. The album features the film’s original score composed by Toby Dundas. Also included is the song Here in the Dark by Oblivion Bell. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Eve is co-written and directed by Rory Kindersley and stars Christine Marzano, Andrew Lee Potts, Jonathan Forbes, Lex Shrapnel, Rachel Warren, Rhashan Stone, Ali Bastian and Yennis Cheung. The movie follows a talented actress fails to land the coveted role of ‘Eve’ in a screen adaptation of Paradise Lost and becomes obsessed with the up-and-comer who gets the part. Premiering on Thursday, October 22 is the fantasy adventure comedy The Witches directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth, Chris Rock and Jahzir Kadeen Bruno. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump. Marvel’s The Avengers, Cast Away, Who Framed Roger Rabbit). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be announced this coming week. Check out our previous article to learn more about the Warner Bros. Pictures production, which was originally set to open in theaters (and is still being released theatrically in several foreign markets next week) and will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO Max.

Premiering on Friday, October 23 (following a very limited theatrical release on October 9 we missed in our film music roundup that week) is the Netflix animated film Over the Moon directed by Glen Keane and starring Cathy Ang, Phillipa Soo, Ken Jeong, John Cho,  Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Robert G. Chiu, Ruthie Ann Miles, Artt Butler and Sandra Oh. Steven Price (GravityOur PlanetSuicide Squad) has composed the film’s original score and Christopher CurtisMarjorie Duffield & Helen Park have written the original songs. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the HBO original series Lovecraft Country. The album features selections of the original score from all episodes of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Laura Karpman (StepSet It UpWhy We Hate) and Raphael Saadiq (Underground, InsecureBlack Nativity). Also included are the songs from the horror drama performed by actors Wunmi Mosaku and Jurnee Smollett, as well as Alice Smith’s cover of Nina Simone’s Sinnerman. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 19 and will be available to stream/download here. Disney+ announced this week that National Geographic’s upcoming documentary The Real Right Stuff will feature an original score composed by James Everingham (Heroes, Grand Prix Driver) for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. The composer’s orchestral score was recorded remotely by a socially distant 44-piece orchestra this past May. The movie is directed by Tom Jennings (Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes) and tells the true story of the nation’s first astronauts, the original Mercury 7.  Jennings is also executive producing the 1895 Films production with Simon Raikes (Drain the Oceans).
