Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original film Nonnas. The album features the movie’s original score composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Equalizer 3, May December, The Affair, Good American Family, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, Emancipation). Also included is the song Hyatt Street performed by Pink Martini feat. China Forbes. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Nonnas is directed by Stephen Chbosky and stars Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Brenda Vaccaro, Talia Shire, Linda Cardellini, Joe Manganiello, Drea de Matteo, Michael Rispoli and Campbell Scott. The comedy drama follows a man who risks everything to honor his just deceased and beloved mother by opening an Italian restaurant with actual nonnas – grandmothers – as the chefs.

Marcelo Zarvos Scoring Stephen Chbosky’s ‘Nonnas’
Composer Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, The Equalizer 3, May December, Emancipation, The Good Shepherd, The Affair, Ray Donovan) is reuniting with director Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Dear Evans Hansen) on the upcoming comedy Nonnas. The film starring Vince Vaughn, Susan Sarandon, Lorraine Bracco, Talia Shire, Linda Cardellini, Brenda Vaccaro, Drea De Matteo, Michael Rispoli, Joe Manganiello & Campbell Scott is based on the true story of Brooklyn native Joe Scaravella. The movie follows Scarvella who – after losing his beloved mother – yearns for a second chance at life and – motivated by his Italian mother’s love of cooking – opens a restaurant unlike any other by hiring the most unlikely team of chefs consisting of grandmothers.

Interscope Records & Universal Studios have released the original song The Anonymous Ones from the film adaptation of the stage musical Dear Evan Hansen. The song performed by Amandla Stenberg who also co-wrote the track with songwriters Benj Pasek & Justin Paul is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Universal Studios & Interscope Records will release the official soundtrack album for the film adaptation of the stage musical Dear Evan Hansen. The album includes the songs from the movie written by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, A Christmas Story) and performed by cast members including Ben Platt, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Amy Adams, Colton Ryan, Julianne Moore, Nik Dodani, Danny Pino & others. The movie features two original songs, A Little Closer performed by Ryan and The Anonymous Ones performed by Stenberg who also co-wrote the track with Pasek & Paul. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on September 24 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dan Romer (Luca, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Maniac, Beasts of No Nation, Wendy) has teamed up with Justin Paul to compose the underscore for the film adaptation of the stage musical Dear Evan Hansen. The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky (Wonder, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and stars Ben Platt, Kaitlyn Dever, Amandla Stenberg, Julianne Moore, Amy Adams, Nik Dodani, Colton Ryan and Danny Pino. The movie is based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical of the same title written by Steven Levenson (with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek & Paul) and revolves around an isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age.

Actress Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give, The Eddy, Everything, Everything, The Darkest Minds) has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical Dear Evan Hansen. She will also be performing and co-writing an original song for the movie with Academy Award winners Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, La La Land). The film will be directed by Stephen Chbosky (Wonder, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and produced by Marc Platt (Bridge of Spies, Mary Poppins Returns) and Adam Siegel (Drive, 2 Guns). Steven Levenson who wrote the book for the Tony Award-winning musical is writing the screenplay.

Michael Brook Scoring ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’
Michael Brook has been tapped to score the upcoming coming-of-age drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The film is written and directed by Stephen Chbosky (creator of the cult TV show Jericho) based on his own novel and stars Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman and Dylan McDermott. The movie follows a 15-year-old introverted freshman who copes with his first love, the suicide of his best friend and his own mental illness. John Malkovich, Lianne Halfon & Russell Smith (Juno, Ghost World, Young Adult) are producing the Summit Entertainment production. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is set to be released on September 14, 2012.
