Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Amblin Entertainment’s 1988 animated feature The Land Before Time directed by Don Bluth, executive produced by Steven Spielberg & George Lucas and starring Gabriel Damon, Candace Hutson, Judith Barsi and Will Ryan. The album features the expanded and remastered original music from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Aliens, Field of Dreams, Glory), including around 15 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included is the original song If We Hold On Together written by Horner & Will Jennings and performed by Diana Ross. Capitol Records has released the cover version of Cigarettes After Sex’s Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby from the drama Promising Young Woman. Universal Music/Urban Legends have announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix documentary LA Originals directed by Estevan Oriol about the culture and landmarks of the chicano and street art movement that cemented Mister Cartoon and Oriol’s status as behind-the-scenes hip hop legends. The album features a selection of songs by musicians who have been inked by Cartoon and captured on celluloid by Oriol, including Method Man (Da Rockwilder), 50 Cent (Disco Inferno), Gang Starr (Mass Appeal), Snoop Dogg (Gin & Juice) and Public Enemy (Fight the Power). Hildur Guðnadóttir Named Film Composer of the Year at 2020 World Soundtrack Awards

Hildur Guðnadóttir was named Film Composer of the Year at the 20th World Soundtrack Awards, tonight’s closing event of the 47th Ghent Film Festival, for her score for Todd Phillips’ Joker, for which she also earned an Academy Award and Golden Globe earlier this year. She previously received the World Soundtrack Award in the TV Composer of the Year category last year. Last year’s Film Composer of the Year winner Nicholas Britell was selected as TV Composer of the Year today for his score for the second season of HBO’s Succession.
