The only movie opening in theaters nationwide is the live-action/animated feature Tom & Jerry directed by Tim Story and starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong. The show’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (The Boys, Lost in Space, Sausage Party, Agent Carter, Horrible Bosses, Supernatural). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this month. Check out our previous article for the full album details and to learn more about the Warner Bros. Pictures production, which is also premiering on HBO Max today.
Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide on March 12 is the drama The Father co-written and directed by Florian Zeller and starring Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Mark Gatiss, Rufus Sewell, Imogen Poots and Olivia Williams. Ludovico Einaudi (The Intouchables, This Is England, Samba) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. Check out our scoring assignment announcement for more information about the movie, which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being released by Sony Pictures Classics.
