Electronic music artist Tim Hecker (The Free World) has composed the original score for the new BBC and AMC+ original series The North Water. The show is developed by Andrew Haigh (Lean on Pete, 45 Years, Weekend) based on the best-selling novel by Ian McGuirand and stars Jack O’Connell, Colin Farrell, Stephen Graham, Peter Mullan, Sam Spruell and Roland Møller. The 5-part drama is set in Hull, England, and on the ice floes of the Arctic in the late 1850s and tells the story of a disgraced ex-army surgeon who signs up as the ship’s doctor on a whaling expedition to the Arctic. ‘Catweazle’ Soundtrack Released

WATT Musikverlag has released a soundtrack album for the German fantasy comedy Catweazle. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Philipp Noll (Dreamfactory). Also included are the movie’s theme songs by lead actor Otto Waalkes. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on most major German digital music services. The only movie opening nationwide this week is the superhero movie’ Black Widow directed by Cate Shortland and starring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Rachel Weisz. The film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, His Dark Materials, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown,The Tomorrow War). Hollywood Records and Marvel Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the French sci-fi horror thriller Meander (Meandre) written and directed by Mathieu Turi and starring Gaïa Weiss, Peter Franzen and Romane Libert. Frédéric Poirier (Hostile) has composed the film’s original music. YASCORE has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past May when the movie opened in French theaters. Deadline is reporting that Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen) will write original songs for the upcoming family movie Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. The film will be directed by Will Speck & Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory, Office Christmas Party) and is set to star Javier Bardem.The movie based on the best-selling children’s book by Bernard Waber revolves around the titular reptile who lives in a house on East 88th Street in New York City and enjoys helping the Primm family with everyday chores, until one neighbor insists that Lyle belongs in a zoo. Sony Classical has released the first track from the score album for Ivan Reiman’s 1989 comedy sequel Ghostbusters II starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis, Rick Moranis, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts. Available to stream/download now is The Scoleri Brothers written by the film’s composer Randy Edelman (Dragonheart, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Kindergarten Cop, xXx, While You Were Sleeping, Gettysburg).
