Fil Eisler to Score Phillip Noyce’s ‘Lakewood’

Fil Eisler (Revenge, Empire, How to Be Single, UnReal, Superintelligence, Proud Mary, CHiPs) has been hired to score the upcoming thriller Lakewood. The film is directed by Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger, Dead Calm, Salt) and stars Naomi Watts as a mother who desperately races against time to save her child as authorities place her small town on lockdown. Chris Sparling (Buried, Greenland) wrote the screenplay. Zack Schiller (Jane Got a Gun, The Babysitter) and David Boies are producing the project with Watts, Dylan Sellers (Footloose, Passenger 57) & Chris Parker (Palm Springs), Andrew Corkin (A Vigilante, Mercy), as well as Sparling & Alex Lalonde. MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Charlatan. The album features the film’s original music composed by Antoni Komasa-Łazarkiewicz (In Darkness, Copying Beethoven, Rosemary’s Baby, Spoor, The Affair) & Mary Komasa. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 23 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Charlatan is directed by Agnieszka Holland and stars Ivan Trojan, Josef Trojan and Juraj Loj. The movie, which was selected as the Czech entry and shortlisted in the Best International Film category at this year’s Academy Awards, tells the story of Jan Mikolášek, a 20th century Czech herbal healer who won fame and fortune treating celebrities of the interwar, Nazi, and Communist eras with his uncanny knack for “urinary diagnosis”. Premiering in the U.S. today is the Norwegian mini-series Atlantic Crossing written by Alexander Eik & Linda May Kallestein, directed by Eik and starring Sofia Helin, Kyle MacLachlan and Tobias Santelmann. The show’s original music is composed by Raymond Enoksen (Haunted, Ice Road Rescue). Dreamscore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last year when the 8-part drama premiered overseas. Also premiering tonight is the Fox TV special Malika the Lion Queen directed by Karin Slater and narrated by Angela Bassett. Jasha Klebe (Planet Earth II, The Black Godfather, Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom, Medal of Honor, Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes) has composed the original music for the special. The documentary, which follows a powerful pride of lions in South Africa’s Kruger National Park and explores the exhilarating and harrowing life of lioness Malika, will air on Fox tonight. Movistar Sound has released a new soundtrack album for the Spanish TV series Merlí Sapere Aude. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Xavier Capellas (Bruc, the Manhunt, Perdidos, Beyond Re-Animator, The Paradise). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio clips. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring music from Season 1 of the teen drama last year. Merlí Sapere Aude is created by Héctor Lozano, directed by Menna Fité and stars Carlos Cuevas, María Pujalte, David Solans, Ana María Barbany, Francesc Orella, Boris Ruiz, Assun Planas, Pablo Capuz, Azul Fernández and Gloria Ramos. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the movie last Friday. Paramount Music will release a score album for the animated feature The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run. The album features the film’s original score composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Inception, The Dark Knight, Gladiator) & Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, The Rhythm Section). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 9 and will be available to stream/download here. As previously reported, Interscope Records has released a separate album featuring the songs from the movie last month. Hollywood Records has released cover version of Steve Miller Band’s Fly Like an Eagle by composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard) & writer/director Noah Hawley from the Season 3 premiere episode (Chapter 20) of the FX original series Legion. The song is now available on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump. The song was missing from the official Season 3 soundtrack album, which also features the other covers, as well as selections of Russo’s score from the third season.
