Deadline is reporting that Rudy Mancuso is attached to compose the music for his second feature directorial effort, Stand-In. The film follows a Hollywood-obsessed stand-in who seizes his chance to shine after a series of events leads to the disappearance of the actor he’s standing in for. Mancuso is also writing the screenplay with Dan Lagana (American Vandal, The Babysitter: Killer Queen) based on a story by Andy Muschietti (It, The Flash) who is also producing the Amazon MGM Studios production with Barbara Muschietti (Locke & Key). Making its linear premiere tonight is the Showtime original series Dexter: Original Sin developed by Clyde Phillips and starring Patrick Gibson, Christian Slater, Molly Brown, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, James Martinez, Reno Wilson, as well as Michael C. Hall as the voice of the inner monologue in Dexter Morgan’s head. The show’s original music is composed by Pat Irwin (Nurse Jackie, The Good Cop, Feed the Beast, But I’m a Cheerleader, Bored to Death) who previously scored 2021’s Dexter: New Blood. The prequel the original Dexter series (scored by Daniel Licht) is set in 1991 Miami and follows the title character as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer.
