Jeff Cardoni is scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Girlboss. The show is created by Kay Cannon (Pitch Perfect) and stars Britt Robertson, Johnny Simmons, Ellie Reed, Dean Norris and Alphonso McAuley. The comedy is inspired by Sophia Amoruso’s autobiography of the same title and follows a rebellious, broke anarchist who stumbles upon her passion of selling vintage clothes online and becomes an unlikely businesswoman. Cannon is also execute producing the project with Amoruso, Charlize Theron & Laverne McKinnon and Christian Ditter (How to Be Single) who is also directing several episodes.

(Premiering on Tuesday, January 10, is the FX mini-series Taboo created by Steven Knight and starring Tom Hardy, Oona Chaplin, David Hayman, Michael Kelly, Franka Potente and Jonathan Pryce. Max Richter (The Leftovers, Waltz with Bashir, Miss Sloane, Disconnect, Testament of Youth) has composed the original music for the 8-parter. Premiering on Thursday, January 12, is the Crackle original movie Mad Families directed by Fred Wolf and starring Charlie Sheen, Leah Remini, Finesse Mitchell, Juan Gabriel Pareja, Charlotte McKinney, Naya Rivera, Chris Mulkey, Lil Rel Howery, Tiffany Haddish, Clint Howard, Chanel Iman, Barry Shabaka Henley, Efren Ramirez and Danny Mora. Gloria Estefan’s ‘One Day at a Time’ Theme Song to Be Released
Madison Gate Records will release the theme song for the new Netflix remake of the classic 70s comedy One Day at a Time. The new version of the theme is performed by Gloria Estefan and produced by her husband, Emilio Estefan. The song will be released as a digital single on January 13, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Listen to the song and watch the main titles sequence of the series after the jump. One Day at a Time stars Justina Machado, Todd Grinnell, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rita Moreno. The comedy follows a newly single Latina mother who raises her teen daughter and tween son with the “help” of her old-school mom.

Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy The Mick created by John & Dave Chernin (It’s Always Funny in Philadelphia) and starring Kaitlin Olson, Sofia Black-D’Elia, Thomas Barbusca, Jack Stanton, Carla Jimenez and Susan Park. The show’s original music is composed by Jonathan Sadoff (The Meddler, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, Beautiful Creatures). The series revolves around a rash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who must assume guardianship of her sister’s three high-maintenance children. CMT’s ‘Sun Records’ to Feature Music by Lyle Workman
Lyle Workman has been tapped to score the upcoming CMT original series Sun Records. The show stars Chad Michael Murray, Billy Gardell, Drake Milligan, Kevin Fonteyne, Christian Lees, Jonah Lees, Trevor Donovan and Kerry Holliday. The drama based on the book written by Floyd Mutrux & Colin Escott is set in Memphis and depicts the rise of musicians including Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash as the burgeoning civil-rights movement grips the nation. Gil Grant (Painkiller Jane) serves as the series’ showrunner and is also executive producing the Thinkfactory Media production with Leslie Greif (Texas Rising, Funny Money), Jayson Dinsmore (Still the King) and Julia Silverton.
‘The Man in the High Castle’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details
The full details of the new soundtrack album for Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle have been revealed. The album features selections from the original music of the show’s second season composed by Dominic Lewis (Money Monster, Free Birds, The DUFF). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 30 by Varese Sarabande and will be available to download here. The label will also release a CD featuring the show’s music from the first and second seasons in early 2017. The comedy centers on three families – one Hispanic, one African-American, one Caucasian – who end up sharing the same camping space over the Fourth of July weekend.

BET’s ‘Madiba’ to Feature Music by Todor Kobakov
Todor Kobabkov has been tapped to score the upcoming BET mini-series Madiba. The drama is directed by Kevin Hooks (Prison Break, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and stars Laurence Fishburne as Nelson Mandela, alongside Orlando Jones, David Harewood, Michael Nyqvist and Terry Pheto. The 3-parter is based on two Mandela autobiographies, Conversations With Myself and Nelson Mandela by Himself and tells the story of a younger Nelson Mandela during the early-60s as he deals with the political unrest engulfing South Africa.
