Virgin Records will release the official soundtrack album for the ABC original movie event Dirty Dancing. The album features the songs from the film performed by the cast, which includes Abigail Breslin, Debra Messing, Bruce Greenwood, Nicole Scherzinger, Sarah Hyland, Tony Roberts, Katey Sagal, Billy Dee Williams, Colt Prattes and J. Quinton Johnson. Also included is a new version of Be My Baby by Bea Miller, which will be available to download tomorrow, as well as new tracks by Greyson Chance, American Authors, Lady Antebellum, Seal, Karmin & more. The full soundtrack will be released on May 19, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dirty Dancing is directed by Wayne Blair and features the story from the 1987 romantic drama classic told from a fresh perspective.

Soundtrack for Netflix’s ‘Dear White People’ to Be Released
Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Dear White People. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me, Little Boxes), as well as songs from the series by artists including Tkay Maidza feat. Killer Mike, Future, Innanet James, The Softones, Shamir, Thelma Houston, Anna Wise & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 28 and will be available to download on Amazon. Dear White People is created by Justin Simien based on his 2014 feature and stars Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori and Marque Richardson. The show follows a group of students of color who navigate the daily slights and slippery politics of life at an Ivy League college.
Soundtrack for Hulu’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu original series The Handmaid’s Tale. The album features the film’s original music composed by Adam Taylor (Before I Fall, Meadowland). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 5, 2017 and physically a few weeks later. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. The Handmaid’s Tale is created by Bruce Miller based on the classic novel by Margaret Atwood and stars Elisabeth Moss, Samira Wiley, Joseph Fiennes, Alexis Bledel, Max Minghella, Yvonne Strahovski, O.T. Fagbenle, Madeline Brewer and Ann Dowd. The drama tells the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, an authoritarian theocracy that has supplanted the United States, where women are nothing more than wives, servants, or breeders, referred to as “handmaids.”
Paul Leonard-Morgan Scoring The CW’s ‘Dynasty’ Reboot
Paul Leonard-Morgan revealed on Twitter that he is currently scoring the pilot of The CW reboot of Dynasty. The show is created by Josh Schwartz (The O.C., Chuck, Gossip Girl), Stephanie Savage (Endless Love, Heart of Dixie) & Sallie Patrick and stars Nathalie Kelley, Elizabeth Gillies, Alan Dale, Sam Adegoke, Rob Riley and Grant Show. The series is based on the classic 80s series of the same title and follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children. Schwartz, Savage & Patrick are also executive producing the Fake Empire and CBS Television production with original Dynasty creators Esther and Richard Shapiro.
NBC’s ‘Great News’ to Feature Music by Jeff Richmond & Giancarlo Vulcano
Jeff Richmond and Giancarlo Vulcano are scoring the new NBC comedy Great News. The show is created by Tracey Wigfield (The Mindy Project) and stars Briga Heelan, Andrea Martin, Adam Campbell, Nicole Richie, Horatio Sanz and John Michael Higgins. The series follows a New Jersey mom who puts her relationship with daughter to the test when she lands an internship at her new job. Wigfield is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Tina Fey, Robert Carlock & Jack Burditt (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, 30 Rock) and David Miner (Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
Blake Neely to Score Greg Berlanti’s ‘Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda’
Blake Neely revealed in a recent interview in Variety that he is set to reunite with Greg Berlanti on the upcoming feature coming-of-age comedy drama Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. The film is directed by Berlanti and stars Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner, Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Logan Miller, Tony Hale, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Miles Heizer and Talitha Bateman. The movie is based on Becky Albertalli’s 2015 book of the same title and centers on a gay teenager, who, after an email written by him falls into the wrong hands, is forced to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before being pushed out. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger wrote the screenplay.

Premiering tonight is the new Lifetime original series Mary Kills People created by Tara Armstrong and starring Caroline Dhavernas, Jay Ryan, Richard Short, Lyriq Bent, Greg Bryk and Charlotte Sullivan. The show’s original music is composed by John Rowley (Defendor, Weirdsville). Mary Kills People centers on a single mother who is an ER doctor by day, but by night, she and her partner, a former plastic surgeon, moonlight as underground angels of death and help terminally ill patients slip away on their own terms. Premiering on Tuesday, April 25, is National Geographic’s first scripted series Genius executive produced by Brian Grazer & Ron Howard and starring Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn, Emily Watson, Nicholas Rowe, Samantha Colley, Jon Fletcher, Richard Topol and Alicia von Rittberg. Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys) is composing the show’s music and Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, Gladiator) wrote the main titles theme. Milan Records will release a soundtrack EP for the show this Friday, April 28 and a full soundtrack album is in the works for a release later this year. Soundrack EP for National Geographic’s ‘Genius’ To Be Released
Milan Records will release an EP for the Nat Geo’s first scripted series, Genius. The album features the show’s main title theme written by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King, Inception) and selections from the show’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys, Ghost in the Shell). Also included are three classical pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Genius is executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard (who also directed the first episode) and stars Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn, Emily Watson, Nicholas Rowe, Samantha Colley, Jon Fletcher, Richard Topol and Alicia von Rittberg. The show’s first season follows the life of Albert Einstein, from his early years as a patent clerk, to his later years as a physicist who developed the theory of relativity.
Soundtrack for Showtime’s ‘Guerrilla’ to Be Released
Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime mini-series Guerrilla. The album features the original score from the show composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Taboo, Waltz with Bashir, Disconnect, Miss Sloane). Also included are the songs from the drama by Noir, Femi Kuti, Osibisa, Judy Mowatt, Curtis Mayfield, The Pioneers & more. The soundtrack will be released on May 12, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Guerrilla is created John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) and stars Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto and Babou Ceesay. The 6-parter tells the story of a politically active couple whose relationship and values are tested when they liberate a political prisoner and form a radical underground cell in 1970s London.
Tyler Bates to Score Marvel’s Netflix Series ‘The Punisher’
Tyler Bates has been hired to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix original series The Punisher. The show is developed by Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) based on the Marvel Comic character and stars Jon Bernthal in the title role, alongside Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze and Jaime Ray Newman. The series revolves around Frank Castle, who after the murder of his family, is both haunted and hunted and becomes known as The Punisher in the criminal underworld.
