Premiering on Friday, May 12, is the Amazon original series I Love Dick created by Jill Soloway & Sarah Gubbins based on Chris Kraus’ 1997 novel/memoir and starring Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne and Roberta Colindrez. The show’s original music is composed by Mandy Hoffman (Terri, The Lovers). Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix original series Anne With an E created by Moira Walley-Beckett based on Lucy Maud Montgomery’s novel Anne of Green Gables and starring Amybeth McNulty, Geraldine James, R.H. Thomson, Lucas Jade Zumann, Dalila Bela, Corinne Koslo and Aymeric Jett Montaz. Ari Posner & Amin Bhatia (Flashpoint, X Company) are composing the show’s original music. ‘American Gods’ Main Titles Theme Released

Milan Records has released the main titles theme for the new Starz original series American Gods. The track is written by the show’s composer Brian Reitzell (30 Days of Night, Hannibal, Lost in Translation, Stranger Than Fiction) and features vocals by Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson. The theme is now available to download on Amazon. The label has also released the song In the Pines by Reitzell & Mark Lanegan last week. American Gods created by Bryan Fuller & Michael Green based on Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel and starring Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover and Orlando Jones currently airs Sunday nights on Starz.

‘Once Upon a Time’ – The Musical Episode Soundtrack Details

Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the musical episode of ABC’s hit drama Once Upon a Time. The album features the songs from the episode written by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner and performed by cast members including Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Josh Dallas, Colin O’Donoghue, Lana Parrilla, Giancarlo Esposito, Lee Arenberg, Tony Amendola and Beverley Elliott. Morrison is also performing Emma’s Theme written by the show’s composer Mark Isham (Crash, The Accountant, A River Runs Through It) and featuring lyrics by Zachary & Weiner and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples.

Mandy Hoffman Scoring Amazon’s ‘I Love Dick’

Mandy Hoffman has composed the original score for the new Amazon original series I Love Dick. The show is created by Jill Soloway (Transparent, Lars and the Real Girl) & Sarah Gubbins (Ten Aker Wood) and stars Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne and Roberta Colindrez. The comedy is based on Chris Kraus’ 1997 novel of the same name and is set in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas, where a struggling married couple and their mutual obsession with an off-putting but charismatic professor. Gubbins and Soloway are also executive producing the project with Andrea Sperling (Smashed, Like Crazy) and Victor Hsu.

‘Sense8’ Season 1 Soundtrack Details

WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Sense8. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer (Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, The International, Perfume: Story of a Murderer). Also include are songs from the first season, including 4 Non Blondes’ What’s Up?, The Antlers’ Kettering, Seven Lions’ & Kerli’s Keep It Close and Sigur Rós’ Dauðalogn. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Sense8 is created by Lana & Andy Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski and stars Ami Ameen, Doona Bae, Terrence Mann, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Max Riemelt, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Brian J. Smith, Daryl Hannah and Naveen Andrews.

‘American Epic’ Soundtracks Announced

Legacy Recordings, Columbia Records, Third Man Records nd Lomax Records have announced a number of soundtracks for the PBS docu-series American Epic. The releases include the 5-CD deluxe box set American Epic: The Collection, which features 100 songs from the show by artists including Mississippi John Hurt, The Carter Family, Charley Patton, Jimmie Rodgers, Lydia Mendoza & more, and is set to be released on May 12 (click here to pre-order), as well as American Epic: The Soundtrack, which features 15 songs and will be released digitally and physically on the same day (visit Amazon to pre-order). On June 9, the labels will release American Epic: The Sessions, produced by Jack White & T Bone Burnett, which features new recordings by modern artists including Alabama Shakes, Ashley Monroe, The Avett Brothers, Beck, Elton John, Los Lobos, Nas, Raphael Saadiq, Steve Martin & Edie Brickell and more (click here to pre-order).

Premiering tonight is the Starz original series American Gods created by Bryan Fuller & Michael Green based on Neil Gaiman’s novel and starring Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover and Orlando Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Brian Reitzell (Hannibal, Friday Night Lights, 30 Days of Night). Also premiering tonight is the National Geographic documentary LA 92 directed by Dan Lindsay and TJ Martin about the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans (Enemy, The Gift, Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Discovery, The OA, The One I Love) have composed the film’s original music. Jimmy LaValle (The Album Leaf) to Score The CW’s ‘Valor’

Jimmy LaValle (aka The Album Leaf) has been hired to score the upcoming CW drama Valor. The show is created by writer/musician Kyle Jarrow and stars Christina Ochoa, Matt Barr, Charlie Barnett, W. Tré Davis, Nigel Thatch, Corbin Reid and Melissa Roxburgh. The series follows two chopper pilots who, after a botched mission in Somalia leaves a pair of American servicemen in enemy hands, train for a rescue operation, and only they share a very large secret from the initial operation. Jarrow is also executive producing the CBS Television production with Bill Haber (Rizzoli & Isles). Michael Robin (Nip/Tuck, The Closer, Longmire) is directing the pilot episode.

The drama follows a recently released ex-convict named Shadow who meets a mysterious man who calls himself “Wednesday” and who knows more than he first seems to about Shadow’s life and past.

Jeff Russo Scoring FX’s ‘Snowfall’

Jeff Russo is composing the original score for the upcoming FX original series Snowfall. The show is created by John Singleton (Boyz n the Hood, Shaft, Four Brothers) & Eric Amadio and Dave Andron (Justified) and stars Damson Idris, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Carter Hudson and Emily Rios. The drama is set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic in the early 80s in Los Angeles and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. Singleton, Andron and Amadio are also executive producing the project with Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing, Manhattan), Michael London (Sideways, The Illusionist, The Visitor) and Trevor Engelson (Remember Me).
