The film is directed by Lauren Greenfield (The Queen of Versailles, Generation Wealth) and centers on Filipino politician and former First Lady Imelda Marcos, who, despite disgrace, remains unbowed and enmeshed in her nation’s politics. Marcos became First Lady of the Philippines in 1965 and still lives as if she possesses the role. Greenfield is also producing the Evergreen Pictures production with Frank Evers.

Edward Shearmur Scoring Roger Kumble’s Netflix Movie ‘Falling Inn Love’
Edward Shearmur (Charlie’s Angels, Miss Congeniality, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Johnny English) has recently scored the new Netflix original movie Falling Inn Love. The film is directed by Roger Kumble (Just Friends) and stars Christina Milian, Adam Demos and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. The romantic comedy revolves around a San Francisco exec who wins a New Zealand inn and ditches city life to remodel and flip the rustic property with help from a handsome contractor. Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy wrote the screenplay. Robyn Snyder and Mel Turner are producing the Mar Vista Entertainment production.
Henry Jackman Scoring Nate Parker’s ‘American Skin’
Composer Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class) is reteaming with Nate Parker on the upcoming drama American Skin. The film is written and directed by Parker who also stars in the film alongside Omari Hardwick, Beau Knapp, Theo Rossi, Shane Paul McGhie and Miluana Jackson. The movie follows marine veteran who takes matters into his own hands after his son is killed by a police officer who is found innocent without standing trial.
Volker Bertelmann (Hauschka) to Score Nat Faxon’s & Jim Rash’s ‘Downhill’
Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) has signed on to score the upcoming drama Downhill. The film is directed by Nat Faxon & Jim Rash (The Way Way Back, screenwriters of The Descendants) and stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Will Ferrell, Miranda Otto, Zach Woods, Zoë Chao, Julian Grey, Ammon Jacob Ford and Kristofer Hivju. The movie is based on the Golden Globe-nominated Swedish feature Force Majeure and follows a seemingly picture-perfect family as they are forced to reevaluate life, and how they truly feel about each other when they barely escape an avalanche during a ski vacation in the Alps.

Eduardo Cruz has composed the original score for the upcoming political thriller Wasp Network. The film is written and directed by Olivier Assayas (Clouds of Sils Maria, Personal Shopper) and stars the composer’s sister Penélope Cruz, alongside Edgar Ramírez, Gael García Bernal, Wagner Moura, Ana de Armas and Leonardo Sbaraglia. The movie follows the increasingly complex lives of Cuban dissidents during the country’s 1990s post-Soviet Union economic collapse. Rodrigo Teixeira (Call Me By Your Name, The Witch) & Lourenco Sant’Anna (The Lighthouse) are producing the project for RT Features, alongside Charles Gillibert (Mustang, Certified Copy) for CG Cinéma.
Mervyn Warren to Score Solomon Onita, Jr.’s ‘Tazmanian Devil’
Mervyn Warren (The Wedding Planner, Honey, A Walk to Remember, Joyful Noise) has been hired to score the upcoming indie drama Tazmanian Devil. The film is written and directed by Solomon Onita, Jr. and stars Abraham Attah, Adepero Oduye, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine and Kwesi Boakye. The movie centers on a 19-year-old Nigerian immigrant as he struggles to balance his conflicting desires of joining a college fraternity and bonding with his estranged father, a strictly religious pastor at a local church. Tricia Woodgett is producing the project for TigerEye Films.
Colin Stetson Scoring Richard Stanley’s ‘Color Out of Space’
Colin Stetson (Hereditary, The First, Outlaws and Angels) is scoring the Color Out of Space. The film is directed by Richard Stanley (Hardware, Dust Devil) and stars Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Brendan Meyer, Julian Hilliard, Elliot Knight, Q’orianka Kilcher and Tommy Chong. The movie is based on H.P. Lovecraft’s classic horror short story about a meteor that falls to earth and lands on the property of a New England family with insidious, delirious, and psychedelic results.
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross to Score Pixar’s ‘Soul’
It was announced at Disney’s D23 Expo today that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) will be scoring Pixar Animation’s upcoming feature Soul. The film is directed by Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out, Monsters Inc.) and features the voices of Tina Fey, Jamie Foxx, Daveed Diggs, Phylicia Rashan and Questlove. The movie is being described as a “journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions.” Jon Batiste is also providing music for the film.

Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Straight Outta Compton, The Greatest Showman, The Raid series) has composed the original score for the upcoming Disney+ original movie Lady and the Tramp. The film is directed by Charlie Bean (The LEGO Ninjago Movie) and stars Justin Theroux, Tessa Thompson, Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, Janelle Monáe, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong, F. Murray Abraham and Sam Elliott. The movie is a re-telling of Disney’s 1955 animated classic about a pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray who embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home.
James Gray’s ‘Ad Astra’ to Feature Music by Lorne Balfe
Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys, Genius) is composing new music for the upcoming sci-fi drama Ad Astra. The composer’s score is being recorded at the Synchron Stage in Vienna. Balfe will receive an additional music credit alongside original composer Max Richter who finished recording his score earlier this summer at AIR Studios in London. Ad Astra is directed by James Gray (The Lost City of Z, We Own the Night, The Immigrant) and stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland. The movie follows an astronaut as he travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet.
