Composer Dan Romer (Lilo & Stitch, Station Eleven, Luca, Superman & Lois, Maniac, Beasts of No Nation,Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Good Doctor) is reuniting with director Drake Doremus (Like Crazy, Equals) on the upcoming romantic comedy drama Next Life. The film is written and directed by Doremus and stars Emilia Clarke, Edgar Ramírez and Jack Farthing. The movie tells the love story of a young woman who finds herself confronted with parallel universes in which her life unspools in very different ways set against the modern London jazz scene.

NNNY Productions has released a soundtrack album for Drake Doremus’ romantic drama Endings, Beginnings. The album features the film’s original score composed by Philip Ekström. Also included are the songs Another Go Around by Beach House and Devotion by H. MOON. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. It’s Complicated/Mute Records will release the first soundtrack album for the sci-fi drama Equals. The album features music written for the movie by EDM artist Apparat who co-scored the film with Dustin O’Halloran. Equals Sessions will be released digitally tomorrow, July 10 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon. Equals is directed by Drake Doremus and stars Kristen Stewart, Nicholas Hoult, Guy Pearce, Bel Powley, Jacki Weaver, Claudia Kim, Kate Lyn Sheil and David Selby. The movie centers on two young people who somehow manage to fall in love in an oppressive futuristic society where human emotions have been eradicated.

Philip Ekstrom has composed the original score for the upcoming drama Endings, Beginnings. The film is directed by Drake Doremus (Like Crazy, Breathe In, Equals) and stars Shailene Woodley, Sebastian Stan and Jamie Dornan. The movie revolves around an idealistic woman as she attempts to get her life on track financially and romantically, but gets caught in a love triangle with a free-spirited bad boy and his more stable, scholarly best friend. Doremus also co-wrote the screenplay with Jardine Libaire and is producing the project with Francis Chung (Take Point) and Robert George (Zoe, Newness).

Dustin O’Halloran has joined German electronic musician Apparat to co-score the upcoming sci-fi romance Equals. The movie is directed by Drake Doremus and stars Kristen Stewart, Nicholas Hoult and Guy Pearce. The film is set in the future and centers on a couple young couple rebelling against their society where emotions have been eradicated. Nathan Parker (Moon) wrote the screenplay. Ridley Scott and Michael Schaefer (Exodus: Gods and Kings) are producing the project for Scott Free Productions, alongside Ann Ruark (The Beaver, The Motel Life), Jay Stern (Horrible Bosses, Rush Hour 2) and Chip Diggins (A Walk in the Woods, Love and Honor).

‘Breathe In’ Soundtrack Details
UPDATED in March 2014 with U.S. release info: Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Drake Doremus’ indie drama Breathe In. The album features the film’s original score composed by Dustin O’Halloran who previously collaborated with the director on the 2011 indie Like Crazy. The soundtrack will be released on March 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Like Crazy is written and directed by Drake Doremus and stars Guy Pearce, Felicity Jones, Amy Ryan and Mackenzie Davis. The movie about a high school teacher who is tempted to cheat on his wife with one of his students premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in the UK on July 19. Cohen Media Group has acquired domestic distribution rights and will release the drama on March 28, 2014.
Dustin O’Halloran to Reunite with Drake Doremus on New Indie Drama
Dustin O’Halloran is reuniting with director Drake Doremus on his upcoming, currently untitled indie drama. They have previously worked together on last year’s Sundance hit Like Crazy starring Felicity Jones, Anton Yelchin and Jennifer Lawrence. Doremus’ new film stars Guy Pearce as a high school teacher who is tempted to cheat on his wife with one of his students. Felicity Jones, Amy Ryan, Mackenzie Davis and Nico Tortorella are co-starring. Doremus has co-written the screenplay with his Like Crazy writing partner Ben York Jones. Jonathan Schwartz (Douchebag, Like Crazy) and Andrea Sperling (Harsh Times) are producing through Super Crispy Entertainment and Steven Rales and Mark Roybal (Doubt, Shaft) are producing for Indian Paintbrush. No word yet on a release date for the indie production.
