Ramin Kousha has been tapped to score the upcoming dystopian thriller Radioflash. The film is directed by Ben McPherson and stars Dominic Monaghan, Brighton Sharbino, Will Patton and Fionnula Flanagan. The movie is set in a dystopian future, in which an electric-magnetic pulse strikes America, knocking out all the power and pushing the country into the Dark Ages and follows a tech-savvy teenager and her father as they flee the city, and seek refuge with her grandfather deep in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. McPherson is also producing the project with Rocco DeVilliers (Sky Kids), Brad Skaar and Clay Vandiver.

Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby, The Incredible Hulk, Love Actually, Romeo + Juliet) has recently scored the upcoming thriller The Burnt Orange Heresy. The film is directed by Giuseppe Capotondi (The Double Hour) and stars Claes Bang, Elizabeth Debicki, Mick Jagger and Donald Sutherland. The movie is based on Charles Willeford’s noir novel of the same title and follows an ambitious art critic who steals a rare painting and becomes consumed by his own greed as the operation spins out of control. Atli Orvarsson to Return for Patrick Hughes’ ‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’
Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle) is set to return as the composer of the upcoming action comedy sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Richard E. Grant who reprise their roles from the original 2016 The Hitman’s Bodyguard movie. They are joined by Frank Grillo, Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas and Tom Hopper.
Lorne Balfe Scoring Max Winkler’s ‘Jungleland’
Lorne Balfe has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Jungleland. The film is directed by Max Winkler (Flower, Ceremony) and stars Charlie Hunnam, Jack O’Connell and Jessica Barden. The movie follows a reluctant bareknuckle boxer and his brother as they must travel across the country for one last fight, but an unexpected travel companion exposes the cracks in their bond along the way. Winkler also co-wrote the screenplay with Theodore Bressman and David Branson Smith (Adrift, Ingrid Goes West).

Rob Simonsen is composing the original score for the upcoming drama The Friend. The film is directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Megan Leavey, Blackfish) and stars Jason Segel, Dakota Johnson, Casey Affleck, Gwendoline Christie, Cherry Jones and Ahna O’Reilly . The movie is based on the award-winning Esquire article of the same name and follows a man who puts his own life on hold to move into the family home of his best friends and support them through a terminal cancer diagnosis. Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace) wrote the screenplay.
Marcelo Zarvos Scoring Marc Meyers’ ‘Human Capital’
Marcelo Zarvos (Wonder, Fences, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said) is scoring the upcoming drama Human Capital. The film is directed by Marc Meyers (My Friend Dahmer) and stars Liev Schreiber, Marisa Tomei, Peter Sarsgaard, Maya Hawke, Alex Wolff, Paul Sparks, Aasif Mandvi and Fred Hechinger. The movie is based on Paolo Virzi’s 2014 Italian drama of the same title and centers on two families whose lives become fatefully intertwined following an impulsive business deal and a tragic hit-and-run accident.
Mark Orton Scoring Pixar Short ‘Loop’
Mark Orton (Nebraska, The Good Girl, My Old Lady) has recently scored the upcoming Pixar Animation short Loop. The film is written and directed by Erica Milsom and follows a non-verbal, autistic girl and a chatty boy who are partnered on a canoeing trip and must both learn how the other experiences the world. Michael Warch is producing the project, which is one of three new shorts from Pixar’s SparkShorts series (the others being Wind, scored by Andrew Jimenez, and Float, scored by Barney Jones).
Michael Giacchino & Nami Melumad to Score Brandon Trost’s ‘An American Pickle’
Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, Lost, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Ratatouille) is teaming up with Nami Melumad (Absentia) to score the upcoming comedy An American Pickle. The film marks the feature solo directorial debut of cinematographer Brandon Trost and stars Seth Rogen, Maya Erskine and Sarah Snook. The movie revolves around an immigrant worker at a pickle factory who is accidentally preserved for a century and wakes up in modern day Brooklyn. Simon Rich (Man Seeking Woman, Miracle Workers) wrote the screenplay. Rogen is also producing the Point Grey production with Evan Goldberg (This Is the End, The Interview) and James Weaver (Neighbors, The Disaster Artist).
‘Western Stars’ to Feature Original Score by Bruce Springsteen
Warner Bros. Pictures has announced today that Bruce Springsteen has composed the original score for his upcoming directorial debut Western Stars. The film co-directed by Springsteen and Thom Zimny (Elvis Presley: The Searcher, Springsteen on Broadway) is a cinematic film version of his latest album of the same title and follows the singer/songwriter as he performs his critically acclaimed latest album and muses on life, rock, and the American dream. Zimny is also producing the project with Jon Landau (Titanic, Avatar), Barbara Carr and George Travis.
Jed Kurzel Scoring Benedict Andrews’ ‘Seberg’
Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed, The Mustang, Overlord) is composing the original music for the upcoming political thriller Seberg. The film is directed by Benedict Andrews and stars Kristen Stewart, Jack O’Connell, Anthony Mackie, Margaret Qualley, Colm Meaney, Zazie Beetz, Vince Vaughn, Stephen Root and Yvan Attal. The movie centers on attempts by the FBI to discredit actress Jean Seberg through its Cointelpro program in retaliation for her support of the Black Panther Party.
