Alejandro Amenábar has composed the original music for his upcoming Spanish/Argentine war drama While at War (Mientras Dure La Guerra). The movie is co-written and directed by Amenábar and stars Karra Elejalde, Eduard Fernández, Santi Prego, Luis Bermejo, Tito Valverde and Nathalie Poza. The film set in the first months of the Spanish Civil War and tracks the country’s slide into nearly four decades of fascism under dictator Francisco Franco. Amenábar is also producing the project with Fernando Bovaira (Sex and Lucia), Domingo Corral (Hierro) and Hugo Sigman (Wild Tales).

The film stars Adam Sandler as a charismatic New York City jeweler who must perform a precarious high-wire act, balancing business, family, and encroaching adversaries on all sides, in his relentless pursuit of the ultimate win. Lakeith Stanfield, Idina Menzel, Judd Hirsch, Eric Bogosian, Pom Klementieff, Kevin Garnett and Julia Fox are co-starring.
David Holmes Scoring Steven Soderbergh’s ‘The Laundromat’
Composer David Holmes is reuniting with director Steven Soderbergh on the upcoming Netflix original movie The Laundromat. The film stars Meryl Streep, Gary Oldman, Antonio Banderas, Sharon Stone, Alex Pettyfer, David Schwimmer, Will Forte, Robert Patrick and Jeffrey Wright. The movie tells the story of the corrupt and secret world of financial crime that was exposed by the infamous Panama Papers leak. Scott Z. Burns (Contagion, The Informant!) wrote the screenplay and is also producing the project with Lawrence Grey (Lights Out), Gregory Jacobs (Edge of Tomorrow) and Michael Sugar (Spotlight).

Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, Nerve, Foxcatcher, The Upside, (500) Days of Summer, Tully) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Way Back. The film is directed by Gavin O’Connor (Miracle, The Accountant, Warrior) and stars Ben Affleck, Janina Gavankar, Al Madrigal, Hayes MacArthur and Rachael Carpani. The movie revolves around a former basketball all-star who has lost his wife and family foundation in a struggle with addiction and attempts to regain his soul and salvation by becoming the coach of a disparate, ethnically mixed high school basketball team at his alma mater. Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace, Run All Night) wrote the screenplay.

The movie follows a bunch of elites who gather for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt humans for sport. Singer/songwriter Andy Grammer has recorded an original song for the animated feature Curious George: Royal Monkey. The track is one of five original songs featured in the movie directed by Doug Murphy and starring Frank Welker and Jeff Bennett. Germaine Franco (Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Tag, Dope, Vida) has composed the film’s original score. Deirdre Brenner is producing the Universal 1440 Entertainment and Imagine Entertainment production. Ron Howard & Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) serve as executive producers.

David Sardy (21, End of Watch, Premium Rush, Bright) is returning as the composer of the upcoming horror comedy sequel Zombieland: Double Tap. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Gangster Squad) and stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Rosario Dawson, Zoey Deutch and Luke Wilson. The movie follows Columbus, Tallahasse, Wichita, and Little Rock as they must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.

Mark Isham has been hired to score the upcoming crime thriller Honest Thief. The film is directed by Mark Williams (Ozark) and stars Liam Neeson, Kate Walsh, Anthony Ramos, Jai Courtney, Jeffrey Donovan and Jeffrey Wright. The movie centers on a bank robber who tries to turn himself in because he’s falling in love with a woman. Steve Allrich wrote the screenplay. Williams is also producing the project with Tai Duncan (Proud Mary, How It Ends), Myles Nestel & Craig Chapman (Laggies, Wheelman) are producing the project.
