It was announced at Disney’s D23 Expo today that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) will be scoring Pixar Animation’s upcoming feature Soul. The film is directed by Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out, Monsters Inc.) and features the voices of Tina Fey, Jamie Foxx, Daveed Diggs, Phylicia Rashan and Questlove. The movie is being described as a “journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions.” Jon Batiste is also providing music for the film. Dana Murray (Lou, Smash and Grab) is producing the project. Soul is set to be released on June 19, 2020 by Walt Disney Pictures.

Reznor & Ross also have the HBO series Watchmen, Trey Edward Shults’ Waves and Joe Wright’s The Woman in the Window coming up.
