Daniel Pemberton to Score Harry Bradbeer’s ‘Enola Holmes’
Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Yesterday) has signed on to score the upcoming mystery adventure Enola Holmes. The film is directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag) and stars Millie Bobby Brown in the title role as Sherlock Holmes’s much younger – and equally intelligent – sister, as well as Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Sam Claflin, Helena Bonham Carter, Fiona Shaw, Adeel Akhtar, Frances de la Tour, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma and Burn Gorman.
Nicholas Britell Scoring David Michod’s ‘The King’
Nicholas Britell has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original movie The King. The film is directed by David Michod (Animal Kingdom, The Rover) and stars Timothée Chalamet, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Ben Mendelsohn, Robert Pattinson, Lily-Rose Depp, Tom Glynn-Carney and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie. The historical drama is inspired by elements of Shakespeare’s Henry IV and Henry V and tells the story of Hal, a wayward prince, as he ascends the English throne upon his father’s death, and must navigate the palace snake pit, and inherited war and chaos.
Brian Tyler to Return for ‘Rambo: Last Blood’
Brian Tyler is returning as the composer of the upcoming action sequel Rambo: Last Blood. The film is directed by Adrian Grunberg (Get the Gringo) and stars Sylvester Stallone, Paz Vega, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Adrianna Barraza, Yvette Monreal, Genie Kim, Joaquin Cosio and Oscar Jaenada. The movie follows the title character as he must confront his past and unearth his ruthless combat skills to exact revenge in a final mission. Stallone also wrote the screenplay with Matthew Cirulnick (Absentia).
James L. Venable Scoring Kevin Smith’s ‘Jay and Silent Bob Reboot’
James L. Venable (Scary Movie 3, 4 & 5, EuroTrip, Samurai Jack, The Powerpuff Girls) is returning to score Kevin Smith’s upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The film is written and directed by Smith (Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy) who also stars in the movie alongside Jason Mewes. The comedy follows the title characters as they discover that Hollywood is rebooting an old movie based on them and decide to embark on another cross-country mission to stop it all over again. Jordan Monsanto (Yoga Hosers) and Liz Destro (Life of Crime, The Little Hours) are producing the project.
Alan Silvestri to Reteam with Robert Zemeckis on ‘The Witches’
Alan Silvestri has signed on to score the upcoming fantasy adventure The Witches. The film is directed by Robert Zemeckis and stars Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Chris Rock, Jahzir Kadeem Bruno and Codie-Lei Eastick. The movie is based on Roald Dahl classic book and tells the story of a young orphaned boy who, in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandmain the rural Alabama town of Demopolis, where they come across some deceptively glamorous but thoroughly diabolical witches. Zemeckis also wrote the screenplay with Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Shaft) and Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth).
Randy Newman Scoring Noah Baumbach’s Next Feature
Randy Newman has recently composed the original music for Noah Baumbach’s, currently untitled, upcoming Netflix original movie. The film is written and directed by Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale, Greenberg, Frances Ha) and stars Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, Laura Dern, Merritt Wever, Azhy Robertson, Alan Alda and Kyle Bornheimer. No plot details have been announced yet. Baumbach is also producing the project with David Heyman (Gravity, Harry Potter series).
Simon Franglen Scoring Xiaolong Zheng’s ‘Turandot’
Simon Franglen (The Magnificent Seven, Peppermint, Pandora: The World of Avatar) has recently composed the original score for the upcoming Chinese fantasy romance Turandot. The film is directed by Xiaolong Zheng (Empresses in the Palace) and stars Guan Xiaotong and Dylan Sprouse. The movie is based on Giacomo Puccini’s opera of the same title and follows a princess who is cursed by a mysterious power emanating from three Mazovian bracelets that were given to her as birthday gifts and an ordinary citizen who risks his life to save her. Xiaoping Wang wrote the screenplay.
Marc Streitenfeld Scoring Andy Goddard’s ‘Six Minutes to Midnight’
Last week, Marc Streitenfeld (Prometheus, American Gangster, Robin Hood, The Grey, Body of Lies) has recorded his score for the upcoming British drama Six Minute to Midnight. The film is directed by Andy Goddard (A Kind of Murder, Set Fire to the Stars) and stars Judi Dench, Eddie Izzard, Jim Broadbent, Carla Juri, James D’Arcy, Maria Dragus, Tijan Marei and Franziska Brandmeier. The movie is set in 1939 and follows a teacher who is assigned to a finishing school on the south coast of England who becomes alarmed that the students include the daughters of high-ranking Nazis.

Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (Loveless, The Family, The Wizard of Lies, Nine Lives) have been tapped to score the upcoming drama Persian Lessons. The film is directed by Vadim Perelman (The House of Sand and Fog, The Life Before Her Eyes) and stars Nahuel Perez Biscayart and Lars Eidinger. The movie set in Occupied France in 1942 centers on the relationship between a man who is arrested by the SS alongside other Jews and sent to a concentration camp in Germany and the head of the camp who dreams of opening a restaurant in Iran once the war is over.
