Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant, Macbeth, Assassin’s Creed, The Mustang, Overlord) is composing the original music for the upcoming political thriller Seberg. The film is directed by Benedict Andrews and stars Kristen Stewart, Jack O’Connell, Anthony Mackie, Margaret Qualley, Colm Meaney, Zazie Beetz, Vince Vaughn, Stephen Root and Yvan Attal. The movie centers on attempts by the FBI to discredit actress Jean Seberg through its Cointelpro program in retaliation for her support of the Black Panther Party. Joe Shrapnel & Anna Waterhouse (Race, Frankie & Alice) wrote the screenplay. Fred Berger (La La Land, Destroyer), Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Midnight Special), Kate Garwood (Race), Stephen Hopkins (The Ghost and the Darkness, Predator 2), Brad Pilz, Marina Acton and Alan Ritchson are producing the project. Kurzel has previously scored Andrews’ first feature, Una. Seberg will premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival and will be released in theaters by Amazon Studios.

As previously reported, Kurzel also has the western The True History of the Kelly Gang starring George MacKay, Russell Crowe, Nicholas Hoult & Charlie Hunnam coming up. The movie will premiere in September at the Toronto Film Festival.
