Sam Ewing (The Walking Dead, The Shed, Victor Crawley) has written the score for the film directed by Brian Goodman (What Doesn’t Kill You, Black Butterfly) and starring Gerard Butler, Jaimie Alexander, Russell Hornsby, Ethan Embry, Michael Irby, Cindy Hogan and Bruce Altman. The movie centers on a man whose desperate search to find his wife who suddenly vanished at a gas station leads him down a path that forces him to run from authorities and take the law into his own hands.

DJ Muggs to Make Film Scoring Debut on Eddie Alcazar’s ‘Divinity’
Deadline is reporting that DJ Muggs (of Cypress Hill) (aka Larry Muggerud) will make his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming indie thriller Divinity. The movie is directed by Eddie Alcazar (Perfect) and stars Stephen Dorff, Jason Genao, Moises Arias, Bella Thorne, Scott Bakula, Karrueche Tran, Mike O’Hearn, Chris Santos, Danielia Maximillian, Lydia Bielen, and Emily Willis. The film follows two otherworldly brothers that are hellbent on stopping a mogul who is close to unraveling the secrets behind immortality. Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven, Contagion) serves as a producer on the project.
Cho Young-wuk Scoring Park Chan-wook’s ‘Decision to Leave’
Composer Cho Young-wuk is reteaming with director Park Chan-wook on the upcoming South Korean drama Decision to Leave. The film starring Tang Wei and Park Hae-il follows a police officer who leads an investigation that occurred in the mountains and meets and falls for the deceased’s wife mysterious wife. Chan-wuk also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeong Seo-kyeong and is producing the Moho Film production.

Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, The Lost City, Stargirl, Us Again, Krypton, McMillions, The Angel) has composed the original score for the upcoming romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding. The film is directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect, Sisters) and stars Jennifer Lopez, Josh Duhamel, Jennifer Coolidge, Sonia Braga, Cheech Marin, Selena Tan and Lenny Kravitz. The movie revolves around a couple whose extravagant destination wedding is hijacked by criminals and rediscover why they fell in love in the first place. Mark Hammer (Two Night Stand) wrote the screenplay.

Norwegian electronic music artist and composer Biosphere (aka Geir Jenssen) has written the original music for the upcoming Netflix original film The Good Nurse. The movie is directed by Tobias Lindholm (A Hijacking, The Investigation) and stars Jessica Chastain, Eddie Redmayne, Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich, Kim Dickens, Malik Yoba and Alix West Lefler. The thriller is based on true events and follows a nurse who suspects that her colleague is behind a series of mysterious patient deaths and risks her own life to uncover the truth.

The movie centers on the relationship between two siblings, an actress and teacher/poet who have been estranged for over 20 years when the death of their parents brings them face to face.

Composer Blake Neely (The Flight Attendant, Arrow, The Pacific, Greyhound The Flash, You) is reteaming with director Ryan White on the upcoming documentary Good Night Oppy. The film tells the story of Opportunity, one of NASA’s twin Mars Exploration Rovers, and the connection that grew between the robotic explorer and the people who built and ran it. Industrial Light & Magic created the project’s visual effects.

Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, 1917, Skyfall, Wall-E) has been hired to score the upcoming horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. The film is directed by André Øvredal (Scary Stories We Tell in the Dark, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) and stars Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Jon Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic, Nikolai Nikolaeff and Javier Botet. The Amblin Entertainment production is based on a single chapter (The Captain’s Log) from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula and tells the story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo – fifty unmarked wooden crates – from Carpathia to London.
