WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series Perry Mason. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Academy Award nominee Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, 25th Hour, Inside Man, Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X, Red Tails). Also included is the song Are You Making Any Money? performed by Mollie Weaver. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released Blanchard’s music from Season 1 back in 2020. Perry Mason is developed by Ron Fitzgerald & Rolin Jones and stars Matthew Rhys, Juliet Rylance, Chris Chalk, Justin Kirk, Katherine Waterston, Diarra Kilpatrick and Eric Lange.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror movie Prey for the Devil directed by Daniel Stamm and starring Jacqueline Byers, Colin Salmon, Christian Navarro, Virginia Madsen, Nicholas Ralph, Lisa Palfrey and Ben Cross. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, The Americans, Hollywood, Hemlock Grove, Cabin Fever). Also opening wide is the drama Call Jane directed by Phyllis Nagy and starring Elizabeth Banks, Sigourney Weaver, Chris Messina, Kate Mara, Wunmi Mosaku, Cory Michael Smith, John Magaro and Grace Edwards. Isabella Summers (of Florence + the Machine) (Little Fires Everywhere, Physical, The Offer, Sex/Life) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘A Jazzman’s Blues’ Soundtrack Album Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for Tyler Perry’s drama A Jazzman’s Blues have been revealed. The album features the songs from the movie performed by cast members Joshua Boone, Amirah Vann and Austin Scott. Academy Award nominee Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Malcolm X, 25th Hour) has arranged and produced most of the songs. Also included are two tracks from the movie’s original score composed by Aaron Zigman (The Notebook, John Q), as well as the original song Paper Airplanes (co-written by Blanchard and performed by Ruth B.), which has already been released as a digital single last month. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 23 by Milan Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services.

The film is directed by Sacha Jenkins (Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men) and offers a definitive look at the master musician’s life and legacy as a founding father of jazz, the first pop star and a cultural ambassador of the United States. The movie draws on Armstrong’s audio diaries to revisit the music and reappraise the politics of the legendary jazz trumpeter and singer.

The film is directed by Gaz Alazraki (We Are the Nobles) and stars Andy Garcia, Gloria Estefan, Adria Arjona, Isabela Merced, Diego Boneta and Chloe Fineman. The romantic comedy revolves around a father as he is coming to grips with his daughter’s upcoming wedding through the prism of multiple relationships within a big, sprawling Cuban-American clan.
