Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Adrift, Hotel Mumbai, The Art of Racing in the Rain, Gunpowder) has been hired to score the upcoming Showtime limited series Your Honor. The show is developed by Peter Moffat (The Night Of, The Last Post) based on the Israeli series Kvodo created by Ron Ninio & Shlomo Mashiach and stars Bryan Cranston, Carmen Ejogo, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Sofia Black-D’Elia, Hope Davis and Michael Stuhlbarg. The 10-part legal thriller is set in New Orleans and revolves around a respected judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices.

John Paesano to Score Showtime’s ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’
John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star) has been tapped to score the upcoming Showtime original series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The show is created by John Logan (Gladiator, Hugo, The Aviator) and stars Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, Kerry Bishé, Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Adam Rodriguez, Thomas Kretschmann, Lorenza Izzo, Michael Gladis, Dominic Sherwood, Ethan Peck and Nathan Lane. The spin-off to Penny Dreadful (which aired between 2014 and 2016) is set in 1938 Los Angeles after a grisly murder shocks the city and follows a detective and his partner as they become embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of LA. Logan is also executive producing the project with Michael Aguilar (The Crazies, Kidding).
Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘Our Cartoon President’ to Be Released
WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Our Cartoon President. The album features the original songs from the first two seasons of the show written by series composer Gabriel Gundacker and performed by the comedy’s cast, including the end titles theme Donald Trump is the President. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 17, 2020 and is now available for pre-order here. Our Cartoon President is created by Stephen Colbert, Chris Licht, Matt Lapin, Tim Luecke & R.J. Fried and featuring the voices of Jeff Bergman, Cody Lindquist, William Sadler, Emily Lynne, as well as Gundacker himself.

Heather McIntosh (Compliance, Z for Zachariah, 6 Balloons) and Allyson Newman (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound, Kusama: Infinity) are composing the original score for the new Showtime original series The L Word: Generation Q. The show is created by Ilene Chaiken (who served as the creator/showrunner of the original The L Word series) & new showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan and stars Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey who are reprising their roles from the original series. They are joined by new cast members Arienne Mandi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas and Sepideh Moafi.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British comedy Back to Life created by Laura Solon & Daisy Haggard and starring Haggard herself, Geraldine James, Richard Durden, Adeel Akhtar, Jamie Michie, Souad Faress and Jo Martin. The show’s original music is composed by Solomon Grey (The Last Post, The Casual Vacancy). Nicholas Britell to Score HBO’s LA Lakers Pilot ‘Showtime’
Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Battle of the Sexes, Free State of Jones) is reteaming with Adam McKay on the HBO drama pilot Showtime. The pilot is directed by McKay, written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and stars Jason Clarke, John C. Reilly, Quincy Isaiah, Solomon Hughes, Gaby Hoffmann, DeVaughn Nixon, Molly Gordon, Rob Morgan, Spencer Garrett, Kirk Bovill, Delante Desouza and Hadley Robinson. The series is inspired by Jeff Pearlman’s book Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s and centers on the professional and personal lives of the 1980s Los Angeles Lakers and its management as they created one of sports’ most revered dynasties and a team that defined its era, both on and off the court.

Abel Korzeniowski to Score Showtime’s ‘Halo’ Series
Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, The Nun, Penny Dreadful, Nocturnal Animals, W.E.) has been hired to score the upcoming Showtime original series Halo. The show is developed by Kyle Killen (The Beaver, Awake) based on the hit video game of the same title and stars Pablo Schreiber, Yerin Ha, Natascha McElhone, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Bentley Kalu, Natasha Culzac and Kate Kennedy. The live-action drama centers on an epic 26th century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant.
