MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack release for last year’s historical drama Princess Kaiulani. The album features the original score from the film composed by Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love). The music is performed by the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released on CD and digitally on October 11, 2011. Princess Kaiulani is the feature directing debut of Marc Forby and tells the true story of Princess Ka’iulani’s attempts to maintain the independence of Hawaii against the threat of American colonization at the end of the 19th century. Q’orianka Kilcher stars as the princess, and Barry Pepper, Will Patton, Tamzin Merchant and Julian Glover are co-starring.

‘Killer Elite’ Soundtrack Released
Cutting Edge Group’s Pale Blue label has released a soundtrack album for the action thriller Killer Elite. The album features the orginal score by composers Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil, as well as the song Turkish Acid Bath by the English rock band Kasabian. The soundtrack has been released this past Tuesday and is now available digitally in different formats on Pale Blue Soundtracks’ website. Killer Elite is directed by Gary McKendry and stars Jason Statham, Robert De Niro, Clive Owen, Yvonne Strahovski, Dominic Purcell and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.

Four new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the the family movie Dolphin Tale directed by Charles Martin Smith and starring Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick, Jr., Kris Kristofferson and Nathan Gamble. Also opening this weekend is the drama Moneyball directed by Bennett Mikler and starring Brad Pitt, Robin Wright, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Chris Pratt. The film’s music is composed by Mychael Danna. A soundtrack album featuring Danna’s score, as well as two songs by Kerris Dorsey and This Will Destroy You has been released earlier this week on Madison Gate Records. ‘The Ides of March’ Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for George Clooney’s drama The Ides of March. The album includes the original score from the film composed by Alexandre Desplat. The soundtrack will be released on November 1, 2011. More details are expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks and will be posted on this page. The Ides of March stars Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Max Minghella and Jeffrey Wright. The movie about a young press spokesman who falls prey to backroom politics recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was also shown at the Toronto Film Festival.
‘The Three Musketeers’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will be releasing the soundtrack for the upcoming 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers in the US. The album featuring the orginal score from the movie composed by Paul Haslinger will be released on October 18, 2011. Also featured on the release is the film’s title song When We Were Young by Take That. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. As previously reported, the soundtrack has already been released overseas where the movie already opened in a number of countries earlier this month. The Three Musketeers is directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew MacFayden, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelsen, Juno Temple and Ray Stevenson.
‘Thelma & Louise’ Score by Hans Zimmer Released
Kritzerland has announced the world premiere release of the complete score for Ridley Scott’s 1991 classic Thelma & Louise. The music is written by Hans Zimmer on his second collaboration with the director following Black Rain. The soundtrack is limited to only 1200 copies and is available to order on Kritzerland’s website where you can also listen to audio clips from the album. Only one four-minute track of Zimmer’s score featuring Peye Haycock’s guitar work has previously been released on the offcial 1991 soundtrack album. Thelma & Louise stars Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis, Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Christopher Macdonald and Brad Pitt. The movie has received six Academy Award nominations and ended up winning one Oscar for Callie Khouri’s screenplay.
‘Real Steel’ Score Album Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a score album for the upcoming action sci-fi action movie Real Steel. The album includes the original score from the movie by Danny Elfman. The soundtrack will be released on November 1, 2011. Check back for the full soundtrack details including cover art and track list in a few weeks. A seperate song album featuring one score track by Elfman will be released in October by Interscope Records as announced in a previous article. Real Steel is set in the near-future where 2,000-pound robots that look like humans do battles. The movie directed by Shawn Levy and starring Hugh Jackman, Kevin Durand, Evangeline Lilly, Anthony Mackie and Hope Davis will be released in theaters on October 7.
‘Young Guns II’ Soundtrack by Alan Silvestri Released
Intrada Records has released a limited edition of the soundtrack for the 1990 western Young Guns II. The album features the original score from the movie composed by Alan Silvestri. Only one track from Silvestri’s music has previously been released on the original soundtrack in 1990. Young Guns II is directed by Geoff Murphy and stars Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips and Christian Slater. The movie follows the life of William H. ‘Insidious’ Soundtrack Announced
Void Recordings will be releasing a soundtrack album for this spring’s horror hit film Insidious. The soundtrack includes 26 tracks from the score by composer Joseph Bishara. The album will be released digitally on October 11, 2011 and will be available on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks of the score after the jump. Insidious directed by James Wan and starring Rose Byrne, Patrick Wilson and Barbara Hershey tells the story about a family haunted by vengeful spirits. The movie was released in theaters last April and is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.

The film’s score is written by Cliff Martinez. A soundtrack featuring the composer’s score, as well as several songs from the movie has been released on Lakeshore Records.
