A video feature on the music for the international release of the epic adventure There Be Dragons has recently surfaced. The 10-minute video shows footage from the recording sessions of the score, as well as a conversation between composer Robert Folk and producer James Ordonez. ‘There Be Dragons: Secrets of Passion’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details for the soundtrack release of the epic historical drama There Be Dragons: Secretos De Pasión (Secrets of Passion). The album includes the original score from the movie composed by Robert Folk. The soundtrack will be released on February 7, 2012 is now available for pre-order on Amazon. There Be Dragons: Secrets of Passion is directed by Roland Joffe and stars Charlie Cox, Wes Bentley, Dougray Scott, Rodrigo Santoro, Derek Jacobi and Olga Kurylenko. The film is a recut version of the drama that was released last May in the US (and featured a different score by Stephen Warbeck). Robert Folk Scoring ‘There Be Dragons: Secrets of Passion’
Robert Folk has recently scored the epic historical drama There Be Dragons: Secrets of Passion. The film directed by Roland Joffé (The Mission) and produced by James Ordonez stars Charlie Cox, Wes Bentley, Dougray Scott, Rodrigo Santoro, Derek Jacobi and Olga Kurylenko. The movie is set during the Spanish Civil War and revolves around two childhood friends who became separated during the political conflict to find themselves on opposite sides as war erupts. As reported earlier this year, Stephen Warbeck has scored the original version of There Be Dragons that was released in theaters this past May. Folk has written the music for a recut version of the drama, which will be released under the title There Be Dragons: Secrets of Passion.

Three new movies are opening nationwide and this weekend:
The comic book adaptation Thor directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo and Stellan Skarsgaard is expected to top the weekend box office. Patrick Doyle has composed the score for the film and a soundtrack has been released on Buena Vista Records. Check out our announcement for details on the album and audio clips. Also opening wide is the comedy Jumping the Broom directed by Salim Akil and starring Angela Bassett, Paula Patton, Laz Alonso, Loretta Devine, Mike Epps and Julie Bowen. Edward Shearmur composed the film’s score and a soundtrack with both score and songs from the film has been released earlier this week by Madison Gate Records. Stephen Warbeck’s Upcoming Projects
Stephen Warbeck has a number of movies coming out this year. Premiering at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in a few weeks is the drama Angels Crest. The film stars Jeremy Piven, Elizabeth McGovern, Kate Walsh, Thomas Dekker and Mira Sorvino. The movie centers on a young father who loses his son, throwing the community into disarray at the time of Waska – the first snowfall of the year. Angels Crest is directed by Gaby Dellal who previously worked with Warbeck on the 2005 drama On a Clearer Day starring Peter Mullan and Brenda Blethyn. No release date has been set yet for the independent movie.
Stephen Warbeck to score Game of Thrones
Stephen Warbeck has been chosen as the composer for the upcoming HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. The show is based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy novel series and is produced and co-written by David Benioff (The 25th Hour, Troy, The Kite Runner). Game of Thrones is set in a fictitious world where magic exists and the ruling empire is in shambles. The series chronicles the conflicts of kings, queens, mercenaries and warlords as the they battle for control of the throne.The cast includes Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey. The series will premiere in 2011 and will have 10 episodes in its first season.
