Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the post-apocalyptic thriller The Domestics. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Cabin Fever, Hostel, Hemlock Grove). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, June 22 and will be available to download on Amazon. The Domestics is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson and stars Kate Bosworth, Tyler Hoechlin and Lance Reddick. The movie takes place in a futuristic wasteland when a young couple travels through a harrowing, gang-ravaged countryside in an attempt to make it home.

Nathan Barr to Score Amazon’s ‘Carnival Row’
Nathan Barr is set to score the upcoming Amazon original series Carnival Row. The fantasy drama is created by Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim, Clash of the Titans) & Rene Echevarria (Castle, Teen Wolf) and stars Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne, David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma and Tamzin Merchant. The show is set in a neo-Victorian city, where mythical creatures who have fled their war-torn homeland are gathered, and follows the investigation into a string of unsolved murders that are eating away at whatever uneasy peace still exists.
Soundtrack Album for FX’s ‘The Americans’ Released
20th Century Fox TV Records has released the first soundtrack album for the FX original series The Americans. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Nathan Barr (True Blood, Cabin Fever, Hostel, Hemlock Grove, Sneaky Pete, The Son). Also included is the song It Must Be Done by Pete Townshend & Barr, which has previously been released as a digital single in 2014. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Americans is created by Joe Weisberg and stars Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Keidrich Sellati, Holly Taylor, Margo Martindale and Noah Emmerich.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the action thriller American Made directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones and Jayma Mays. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Linda Ronstadt, The Allman Brothers, Walter Murphy & more. The movie is based on Joel Schumacher’s 1990 feature of the same name and follows five medical students who embark on a daring and dangerous experiment: by stopping their hearts for short periods of time, each triggers a near-death experience – giving them a firsthand account of the afterlife.
Nathan Barr to Score Eli Roth’s ‘The House with a Clock in Its Walls’
Nathan Barr is set to reunite with director Eli Roth on the upcoming gothic horror movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Jack Black and Cate Blanchett are attached to star in the film based on John Bellairs’ 1973 book of the same title about a recently orphaned 10-year-old boy who discovers a world of hidden passageways, magic, and danger in his uncle’s old house. Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless) wrote the screenplay and will also producing the Amblin Entertainment and Mythology Entertainment production with Brad Fischer (Shutter Island) and James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, Truth).

Television Academy to Host ‘Words + Music – A Concert Celebrating Music Written for Television’
This coming Thursday, June 29, the Television Academy will be hosting a concert celebrating music written for television. Words + Music will feature the live performance of original songs and scores from the composers of top shows from the past TV season. Participating composers include Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot), Siddhartha Khosla (This Is Us), Jeff Russo (Fargo, The Night Of), Sean Callery (Homeland), Nathan Barr (The Americans) and Pedro Bromfman (Narcos).
Nathan Barr Scoring Stephen Moyer’s ‘The Parting Glass’
Nathan Barr is currently scoring the upcoming indie drama The Parting Glass. The film marks the feature directorial debut of actor Stephen Moyer and stars Anna Paquin, Denis O’Hare, Ed Asner, Cynthia Nixon, Melissa Leo, Rhys Ifans and Paul Gross. The movie follows a family reeling with their sister’s death as they embark on a journey to collect the remnants of her life. O’Hare also wrote the screenplay. Paquin and Moyer are also producing the project for CASM Films, alongside O’Hare, as well as Cerise Hallam (I Could Never Be Your Woman, Free Ride) and Mark Larkin. Barr has previously scored all episodes of HBO’s True Blood, which starred both Moyer and Paquin.

Premiering today is the mini-series The Kennedys – After Camelot starring Katie Holmes, Matthew Perry, Alexander Siddig, Kristen Hager, Brett Donahue, Diana Hardcastle and Kristin Booth. The 2-parter’s original music is composed by Jamie Forsyth (Bones). The drama is the sequel to the 2011 mini-series The Kennedys, which was co-scored by Sean Callery, and centers on the life of the former First Lady of the United States, Jacqueline Kennedy in the aftermath of the assassination of her husband. Premiering tomorrow in the U.S. is the British mini-series The Great Train Robbery written by Chris Chibnall, directed by Julian Jarrold & James Strong and starring Luke Evans, Jack Roth, Neil Maskell, Paul Anderson, Martin Compston,Del Synnott and Jack Gordon. Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, The Musketeers) has composed the 2-parter’s original music.
