MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror sequel The Last Exorcism: Part II. The album features the film’s original score composed by Michael Wandmacher (Piranha 3D, Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 11, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. The Last Exorcism: Part II is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly and stars Ashley Bell, Julia Garner, Spencer Treat Clark, Muse Watson and Louis Herthum. The horror film continues where the first part (scored by Nathan Barr) left off, as Nell Sweetzer is found alone and terrified in the woods. The movie opened in theaters this past March and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on June 18 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the fantasy adventure Jack the Giant Slayer directed by Bryan Singer and starring Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor. The film’s music is composed by John Ottman (X2, The Usual Suspects, The Fantastic Four) who also edited the movie and served as an associate producer. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Visit out previous article for audio clips and the full album details. Also opening wide is the comedy 21 & Over written and directed by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore and starring Miles Teller, Justin Chon, Skylar Astin and Sarah Wright. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by artists including Langhorne Slim & The Law, Dropkick Myrphys, 4th Pyramid, Spaceman, T. Mills, The Blue Van, Big Freedia, Benny Benassi, Ben Gidsjoy, Iman Shumpert, The Naked and Famous and The Gaslight Anthem. Weekly Film Music Roundup (February 1, 2013)
Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the zombie romance Warm Bodies directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton and John Malkovich. The film’s music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, 3:10 to Yuma) and Buck Sanders (The Hurt Locker, Max Payne). Despite featuring a significant amount of original score, as well as numerous songs, no soundtrack album has been announced at this point. Also opening wide is the action thriller Bullet to the Head directed by Walter Hill and starring Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang, Jason Momoa, Sarah Shahi and Christian Slater. Steve Mazzaro has composed the film’s original score and Hans Zimmer has produced the music. A soundtrack album featuring Mazzaro’s score has been released earlier digitally this week and will be coming out on February 19 on CD by Varese Sarabande. ‘The Last Exorcism Part II’ to Feature Music by Michael Wandmacher
Michael Wandmacher is scoring the upcoming horror sequel The Last Exorcism Part II. The film is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly (Small Town Murder Song) and stars Ashley Bell who is found alone and terrified in the woods after the events from the previous movie. Gass-Donnelly has also co-written the screenplay with Damien Chazelle. Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) returns to produce the sequel alongside Eli Roth alongside Marc Abraham, Thomas A. Bliss & Eric Newman (Children of Men, Dawn of the Dead) for Strike Entertainment. Roth’s regular musical collaborator Nathan Barr (Hostel, True Blood) has previously scored the 2010 original film in the series.
Michael Wandmacher Scoring ‘Bachelorette’
Michael Wandmacher is scoring the indie comedy Bachelorette. The film written and directed by Leslye Headland (Terriers) is based on her Off-Broadway play of the same name. The movie stars Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan as three best friends who are invited to act as bridesmaids at the wedding of a girl they called “Pigface” in high school. James Marsden, Adam Scott, Kyle Bornheimer are co-starring. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay & Jessica Elbaum (The Other Guys, Step Brothers) are producing the Gary Sanchez Productions film with Brice Dal Farra, Claude Dal Farra & Lauren Munsch (Higher Ground) of BCDF Pictures.
Michael Wandmacher to Score ‘The Haunting in Georgia’
Michael Wandmacher has signed on to score the upcoming horror film The Haunting in Georgia. The movie starring Chad Michael Murray, Katee Sackhoff, Abigail Spencer and Cicely Tyson is based on a true story of a young family imperiled by mysterious entities inhabiting their property in the rural South. While the film follows the concept of the 2009 hit The Haunting in Connecticut, the project is a self-contained film with unique characters. The film marks the directing debut of Tom Elkins who served as an editor on The Haunting in Connecticut. Paul Brooks is producing the project. No release date has been announced yet for the Lionsgate production.
Michael Wandmacher Scoring ‘Breaking In’
Michael Wandmacher is writing the music for the upcoming TV workplace comedy Breaking In. The show starring Christian Slater, Odette Yustman, Jareb Dauplaise, Jennifer Irwin, Trevor Moore, Michael Rosenbaum, Bret Harrison and Alphonso McAuley centers around an eclectic team of twentysomething geniuses who work at a high tech security firm and who are assigned to break into computer security systems. Breaking In is produced by Adam F. Goldberg and Seth Gordon. Gordon who is best known for his feature projects The King of Kong, Four Christmases and the upcoming comedy Horrible Bosses also directed the pilot.

Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
The action movie Drive Angry 3D directed by Patrick Lussier and starring Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard features music by Michael Wandmacher. A soundtrack album featuring the original score is now available on iTunes and will be released on CD on March 8 by Lakeshore Records. Also opening wide this weekend is the comedy Hall Pass. The film is directed by the Farrelly Brothers and stars Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Christina Applegate, Jenna Fisher and Richard Jenkins. The movie centers on a married man, who is granted the opportunity to have an affair by his wife. Hall Pass features a number of songs, but no original score (even though a cue named Card Sting written by Mike Post for the TV show Law & Order is used several times during the film). No plans for a soundtrack release have been announced.
‘Drive Angry’ Soundtrack announced
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the action movie Drive Angry 3D. The album includes the original score by composer Michael Wandmacher. The soundtrack will be available digitally on February 22, 2011 and will get a CD release on March 8. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. An iTunes link will be added once the album becomes available. Drive Angry 3D centers around a vengeful father, who chases after the men who killed his daughter. The film directed by Patrick Lussier and starring Nicolas Cage and Amber Heard will be released in theaters on February 25. Michael Wandmacher’s ‘Train’ score released
Lionsgate Records has released Michael Wandmacher’s score for the horror thriller Train. The film directed by Gideon Raff (The Killing Floor) stars Thora Birch.The movie is set in Europe, where a group of American college athletes unknowingly board a train that will become one deadly ride.
