Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the fantasy adventure Jack the Giant Slayer directed by Bryan Singer and starring Nicholas Hoult, Eleanor Tomlinson, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy and Ewan McGregor. The film’s music is composed by John Ottman (X2, The Usual Suspects, The Fantastic Four) who also edited the movie and served as an associate producer. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Visit out previous article for audio clips and the full album details. Also opening wide is the comedy 21 & Over written and directed by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore and starring Miles Teller, Justin Chon, Skylar Astin and Sarah Wright. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by artists including Langhorne Slim & The Law, Dropkick Myrphys, 4th Pyramid, Spaceman, T. Mills, The Blue Van, Big Freedia, Benny Benassi, Ben Gidsjoy, Iman Shumpert, The Naked and Famous and The Gaslight Anthem. ‘Stoker’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for the psychological thriller Stoker have been revealed. The soundtrack features the film’s original score composed by Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream). Also included is the original song Becomes the Color by Emily Wells, an original piano piece by composed by Philip Glass, as well as Nancy Sinatra’s & Lee Hazelwood’s Summer Wine. The soundtrack will be released on February 26, 2013. Stoker directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney and Jacki Weaver centers on a teenage girl who must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle following the death of her father.

Emily Wells’ Original Song ‘Becomes the Color’ from ‘Stoker’ Released

Milan Records has released the original song Becomes the Color performed by violinist/singer Emily Wells from the psychological thriller Stoker. The one-track single is now available to download on Amazon. Listen to the full track after the jump. As previously reported, the label will release a soundtrack album for the film featuring Wells’ song, as well as Clint Mansell’s score and additional music by Philip Glass on February 26, 2013. Stoker directed by Park Chan-wook and starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney and Jacki Weaver will be released on March 1, 2013 by Fox Searchlight.

Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Park Chan-wook’s psychological trailer Stoker. The album features the film’s original score composed by Clint Mansell, an original song by Emily Wells and additional music by Philip Glass. The soundtrack will be released on February 26, 2013. Clint Mansell Scoring Park Chan-wook’s ‘Stoker’

Clint Mansell is scoring the upcoming psychological thriller Stoker. The film is helmed by Korean director Park Chan-wook (Oldboy) and stars Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney and Jacki Weaver. The Fox Searchlight Pictures production centers on a teenage girl who must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle following the death of her father. Wentworth Miller (Prison Break) has written the film’s script under the pseudonym Ted Foulke. Ridley and Tony Scott, as well as Michael Costigan (Being Flynn, Smart People) are producing the director’s first English language feature film through their Scott Free Productions company. It has previously been reported that Academy Award-winner Philip Glass was involved as the composer of the mystery thriller earlier this year.

Coinciding with the 75th birthday of Philip Glass on January 31, several interviews have appeared online, including a 30-minute video conversation with the Academy Award-nominated composer in CET Connect’s Focus series, in which he talks about his life and career, including his work for movies and the concert hall is and the world premiere of his Second Cello Concerto Life Reflected. The article also confirms the composer’s involvement in Oldboy director Chan-woon Park’s Stoker.
