Timbaland has signed on as a songwriter and song producer for the Fox pilot Empire. The show is created by Lee Daniels (The Butler, Precious) and Danny Strong (Game Change, The Butler) and stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson The drama is set in the world of a hip hop-empire and follows a charismatic, savvy music superstar who is about to take his company, Empire Entertainment, public. Daniels and Strong are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment production with Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, 24) and Francie Calfo.

Photek to Score Fox’s ‘Gang Related’
Photek is composing the music for the upcoming Fox drama Gang Related. The show is created by Chris Morgan (Fast Five, Wanted) and stars Ramon Rodriguez, RZA, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Terry O’Quinn, Shantel VanSanten, Cliff Curtis and Jay Hernandez. The series follows a rising star in Los Angeles’ elite Gang Task Force who teams up with a longtime Task Force member to take on the city’s most dangerous gangs, including one he has an allegiance to. Morgan is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment production with Scott Rosenbaum (The Shield, Chuck), Brian Grazer (24, Friday Night Lights, A Beautiful Mind) and Francie Calfo (The Great Escape, The Playboy Club). Allen Hughes (The Book of Eli, From Hell) directed and served as an executive producer on the pilot episode.

Premiering on Wednesday, January 29, on BBC America is the biographical mini-series Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond directed by Mat Whitecross and starring Dominic Cooper in the title role as Ian Fleming, as well as Laura Pulver, Lesley Manville, Rupert Evans, Anna Chancellor, Samuel West, Annabelle Wallis and Camilla Rutherford. Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, 47 Ronin, The Young Victoria) and Tim Wheeler who previously scored Whitecross’ Ashes and Spike Island have composed the series’ original score. No word on a soundtrack album. Alan Silvestri to Score ‘Cosmos – A Spacetime Odyssey’
Seth MacFarlane has announced on Twitter that Alan Silvestri is scoring the upcoming docu-series Cosmos – A Spacetime Odyssey. The show is a successor to the 1980 Emmy and Peabody Award-winning original series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage and will explore how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson will host the 13-part series, which invents new modes of scientific storytelling to reveal the grandeur of the universe and re-invent celebrated elements of the original series, including the Cosmic Calendar and the Ship of the Imagination, MacFarlane is executive producing the Cosmos Studios and Fuzzy Door production with Ann Druyan, Mitchell Cannold and Brannon Braga (Star Trek, 24).

Sanders, Lili Simmons, Alexandra Daddario, Michael Potts, Kevin Dunn, Tory Kittles, Elizabeth Reaser and Brad Carter. T Bone Burnett (Inside Llewyn Davis, O Brother Where Are Thou?) is composing the show’s original score. True Detective follows two cops whose lives intersect during a 17-year serial killer investigation in Louisiana. The drama will air every Sunday night on HBO. WAZ to Score Fox’s ‘Surviving Jack’
WAZ is scoring the upcoming Fox comedy Surviving Jack. The show is created by Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker ($#*! My Dad Says) and stars Christopher Meloni, Connor Buckley, Rachael Harris, Claudia Lee, Kevin Hernandez and Tyler Foden. The series based on Justin Halpern’s autobiographical book I Suck at Girls is set in 1990s Southern California and follows an ex-military man and no-nonsense guy who becomes a full-time parent when his wife decides to go to law school. Halpern and Schumacker are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and Doozer production with Bill Lawrence (Spin City, Scrubs) and Jeff Ingold WAZ is best known as a singer/songwriter and for his solo records. He has previously composed the theme and co-scored ABC’s Lawrence-produced comedy Cougar Town.

Premiering tonight on Fox is the new futuristic drama Almost Human created by J.H. Wyman, executive produced by J.J. Abrams & Bryan Burke and starring Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby. Electronic music duo The Crystal Method who previously composed the main titles theme for the Fox series Bones are composing the show’s original score. J.J. Abrams has composed the main titles theme, which will be introduced in the second episode, which will premiere tomorrow, November 18. The Crystal Method are composing the score for the new Fox series Almost Human. The show is created by J.H. Wyman (The Mexican, Fringe) and stars Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby. The drama is set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like android and follows a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission that claimed the lives of nine of his fellow elite officers. Wyman is also executive producing the Bonanza Productions, Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television production with J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk (Lost, Revolution).

Premiering tomorrow, September 16, on Fox is the new mystery adventure drama Sleepy Hollow created by Alex Kurtzman & Bob Orci (Star Trek, Transformers), Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) & Phillip Iscove and starring Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, Orlando Jones, John Cho and Katia Winter. Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Fast Five, Now You See Me) is composing the score for the series, which is based on The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow and follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s Detective Abbie Archer to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil. Dan Marocco Scoring Fox’s ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’
Dan Marocco is currently scoring the upcoming Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The show is created by Dan Goor and Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation) and stars Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz and Chelsea Peretti. The show centers around a diverse group of detectives at a New York precinct. The Universal Television production is executive produced by Goor, Schur and David Miner (30 Rock). Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) have directed the pilot episode. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is set to premiere on September 17, 2013 and will air every Tuesday night on Fox.
