John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Invincible, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star) has composed the original music for the upcoming Disney+ original movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The animated feature is directed by Swinton Scott and features the voices of Brady Noon, Ethan William Childress and Chris Diamantopoulos. The film is based on the first book in Jeff Kinney’s bestselling book series and follows Greg Heffley, a scrawny but ambitious kid with an active imagination and big plans to be rich and famous as he tries to survive middle school.

Christophe Beck to Score Marvel’s ‘Hawkeye’ TV Series
Christophe Beck (Frozen, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover, The Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has been tapped to score Marvel Studios’ upcoming Disney+ limited series Hawkeye. The show is helmed by Rhys Thomas (Staten Island Summer) & directing duo Bert and Bertie (Troop Zero) and stars Jeremy Renner in the title role, alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and Alaqua Cox. The series is set in post-blip New York City and follows former Avenger Clint Barton who is forced together with Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero, when a presence from Barton’s past appears.

The album features the original music from the sixth episode (What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?) of the show composed by Emmy Award winner Laura Karpman (Lovecraft Country, Underground, Set It Up, Paris Can Wait, Step, Why We Hate, Step Sisters). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 17 by Marvel Music & Hollywood Records and will be available to stream/download here. Karpman’s scores from Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3, Episode 4 and Episode 5 have been released over the last couple of weeks and three more soundtracks featuring the composer’s music from Episodes 7, 8 & 9 will be coming out in the coming weeks.

The track, which is featured in the short’s end credits sequence, is written and performed by singer/songwriter ASTU and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. James Newton Howard to Compose Music for Disney+ Series ‘Willow’
James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Maleficent, The Sixth Sense, Signs) has revealed in a recent interview in the latest episode of Score: The Podcast that he is attached to compose music for Lucasfilm’s upcoming Disney+ original series Willow. The show is developed by Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story, In the Land of Women) & Wendy Mericle (Arrow) and stars Warwick Davis who returns in the title role, alongside Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Ruby Cruz and Amer Chadha-Patel. The fantasy drama is based on the 1988 feature (produced and written by George Lucas, directed by Ron Howard and scored by James Horner) and will take place years after the events of the film.

Premiering in the U.S. today is the British series Guilt created by Neil Forsyth and starring Mark Bonnar, Jamie Sives, Ruth Bradley, Emun Elliott, Sian Brooke, Moyo Akandé, Ellie Haddington and Bill Paterson. The show’s original music is composed by Arthur Sharpe (The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, Ghosts). The thriller, which follows two brothers who are hiding their guilt after running into an elderly pedestrian during an inebriated drive home from a wedding, premiered in the UK in 2019 on BBC Two and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Tuesday, September 7, is the FX limited series American Crime Story: Impeachment developed by Sarah Burgess and starring Sarah Paulson, Beanie Feldstein, Margo Martindale, Annaleigh Ashford, Clive Owen, Judith Light, Billy Eichner and Edie Falco. Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Politician, Scream Queens) who previously scored the first two American Crime Story installments (The People v. O.J. Simpson & The Assassination of Gianni Versace) is composing the show’s original music. The new season, which examines the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century, will premiere on FX and will also be available to stream on FX on Hulu.

The film is directed by John Hoffman (The Weight of the Nation) & Janet Tobias (No Place on Earth) and focuses on the nation’s top infectious disease expert and one of our most dedicated public servants, Dr. Anthony Fauci. The movie features insights from President George W. Bush, Bill Gates, Bono, former national security advisor Susan Rice, former U.S. Department of Health and Human Services secretary Sylvia Burwell, among others, plus Dr. Fauci’s family, friends and former patients.
