Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the action comedy Jackpot!. The album features the film’s original music composed by Theodore Shapiro (Severance, The Devil Wears Prada, Bombshell, Tropic Thunder, Marley & Me, Destroyer, Ghostbusters). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 16 and will be available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Jackpot! is directed by Paul Feig and stars Awkwafina, John Cena, Ayden Mayeri, Murray Hill, Donald Elise Watkins, Sam Asghari and Simu Liu. The movie follows a woman who mistakenly finds herself with the winning ticket of the “Grand Lottery” (a competition with the catch: kill the winner before sundown to legally claim their multi-billion dollar jackpot) and reluctantly joins forces with amateur lottery protection agent.

Amazon Content Services has released a soundtrack EP for the Mexican Prime Video original series No One Will Miss Us (Nadie nos va a extrañar). The 4-track EP features the song Donde Va El Viento written and performed by Julieta Venegas (in four different versions) and is now available to stream/download here. Premiering today is the MGM+ original documentary series Hollywood Black directed by Justin Simien and inspired by the book from historian Donald Bogle. Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, King Richard, Secret Invasion, The Color Purple, Haunted Mansion, Space Jam: A New Legacy) has contributed the main titles theme and Camilo Forero (Beckham, Earthstorm) has composed the show’s original score for Bleeding Fingers Music. The 4-parter, which chronicles a century of the Black experience in Hollywood by unearthing personal stories from actors, writers, producers and directors who fought for their place on the page, will be available to stream exclusively on MGM+.
Premiering on Wednesday, August 14, is the Apple TV+ original series Bad Monkey developed by Bill Lawrence and starring Vince Vaughn, L. Scott Caldwell, Meredith Hagner, Rob Delaney, Michelle Monaghan, Alex Moffat, Natalie Martinez, Scott Glenn and Jodie Turner-Smith. The show’s original music is composed by Waz & Jamie Jackson (Cougar Town, Life Sentence, Bluff City Law, Surviving Jack, Rush Hour). WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the Tom Petty covers created by the project by artists such as Eddie Vedder, Larkin Poe, Weezer, The War on Drugs & others on October 4. ‘The Shakedown’ Soundtrack Released
Pressure Cooker Music has released for the South African caper comedy The Shakedown. The album features the film’s original score composed by Andries Smit (Triggered, Vagrant Queen, Prey, House on Willow Street, Seal Team, An Elephant’s Journey) as Pressure Cooker. The Shakedown is co-written and directed by Ari Kruger and stars Carl Beukes, Emmanuel Castis, Julia Anastasopoulos, James Borthwick, Milton Schorr, David Isaacs, Jack Parow and Berenice Barbier. The movie revolves around a respected insurance broker – when his mistress threatens to expose the secret of their affair – seeks the help of his underworld brother to save his reputation.
Original Song ‘The Last Ballad of Damrod’ from ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 2 Released
Roadrunner Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for the second season of the Prime Video original series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the original song The Last Ballad of Damrod written by the show’s composer Bear McCreary featuring vocals by Jens Kidman (of the Swedish metal band Meshuggah). ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced
Prime Video has announced the track list of the soundtrack album for the second season of the streamer’s original series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The album features selections of the original score from Season 2 composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day). as well as two new songs featuring vocalists Rufus Wainwright and Jens Kidman. Series stars Sophia Nomvete, Benjamin Walker, Rory Kinnear & Daniel Weyman also lend their vocals to several tracks on the soundtrack, which will be released digitally on August 23 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Mutant will release a CD and vinyl edition, which are both now available for pre-order here. As with the first season, following each episode, Amazon Music will release a weekly soundtrack album containing the score for that episode.
