Alexandre Desplat Scoring Michel Hazanavicius’ ‘Final Cut’

Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Shape of Water, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Queen, The King’s Speech) has been tapped to score the upcoming French horror comedy Final Cut (Z (comme Z)). The film is written and directed by Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist, OSS 117) and stars Romain Duris, Bérénice Bejo, Grégory Gadebois, Finnegan Oldfield, Matilda Lutz and Raphaël Quenard. The movie is based on Shinichiro Ueda’s Japanese feature One Cut of the Dead and follows an abusive director of a low-budget zombie horror as he tries to inject energy and excitement into the project by unlocking a real-life ancient zombie curse. Manners McDade has released a soundtrack album for the BBC series In My Skin. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Nick Foster (Thunderbirds Are Go, The A List, Misha and the Wolves, Year of the Rabbit) and Oli Julian ( Sex Education, Catastrophe, How to Build a Girl, Code 404, Episodes). Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Shelter in Place. The album features the film’s original music composed by Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Good Sam, Impractical Jokers: The Movie, Die Hart). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 21, 2022 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Shelter in Place is directed by Christopher Beyrooty & Connor Martin and stars Brendan Hines, Tatjana Marjanovic, Ola Kaminska, Kevin Daniels and Jey Reynolds. Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, The Invisible Woman, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation) has recently been recording his score for the upcoming drama Thirteen Lives. The film is directed by Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind) and stars Viggo Mortensen, Colin Farrell, Joel Edgerton, Weir Sukollawat, Thiraphat Sajakul, Sahajak Boonthanakit, Vithaya Pansringarm, Teeradon “James” Supapunpinyo, Nophand Boonyai, Tom Bateman, Paul Gleeson, and Lewis Fitz-Gerald. The movie tells the true story of the 2018 Tham Laung cave rescue of a boys’ soccer team who were trapped for days with no supplies and decreasing oxygen levels.
