Weekly Film Music Roundup (October 22, 2021)

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi epic Dune directed by Denis Villeneuve and starring starring Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, The Lion King, Blade Runner 2049). WaterTower Music has released three soundtrack albums, including the composer’s score from the movie (click here for the full album details), The Dune Sketchbook (click here for more information) and the companion book music for The Art and Soul of Dune (click here for the full details). The film is now also available to stream on HBO Max.

Also opening nationwide is the animated feature Ron’s Gone Wrong directed by Sarah Smith & Jean-Philippe Vine and starring Zach Galifianakis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Justice Smith, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms,  Ricardo Hurtado, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Marcus Scribner and Thomas Barbusca. Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Wreck-It-Ralph, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class,  Big Hero 6, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu) has composed the film’s original score. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as songs by Liam Payne and Dave Bayley & Jackman. Check out our previous article for the full album details. ‘The Estate’ Soundtrack Released

Daniel Dombrowsky (Hustle & Tow, Ink & Steel) has released a soundtrack album for the comedic crime thriller The Estate. The album features the composer’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. The Estate is directed by James Kapner and stars Eliza Coupe, Greg Finley, Chris Baker,  Heather Matarazzo, Eric Roberts and Lala Kent. The movie follows a narcissistic son yearning for a life of luxury, and his father’s erratic gold-digging wife who decide to kill their way into their inheritance and employ the help of a mysterious hitman, initiating a psychosexual love triangle. ‘The Shadow in My Eye’ Soundtrack Album Details

MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the Danish drama The Shadow in My Eye (Skyggen i mit øje). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, The Wolverine, Ford v. Ferrari, Hellboy), Ceiri Torjussen (The Canal, Jack Goes Home, All Creatures Here Below) & Buck Sanders (The Hurt Locker, Warm Bodies). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, October 29 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Shadow in My Eye is written and directed by Ole Bornedal and stars Danica Curcic, Alex Høgh Andersen, Fanny Bornedal and Mads Riisom. ‘Warning’ Soundtrack Album Released

Node Records has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller Warning. The album features the film’s original music composed by Gregory Tripi (Ma, Manhunt: Unabomber, Rememory, Dark Places, The Fix). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on most major digital music services, including Apple Music/iTunes. Warning is co-written and directed by Agata Alexander and stars Thomas Jane, Alex Pettyfer, Alice Eve, Annabelle Wallis, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Rupert Everett. The movie explores the repercussions that mankind faces when a global storm causes the omniscient technology they created to malfunction, leading to terrifying, deadly consequences. Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released the first two tracks from the original score from Marvel Studios’ Eternals. Available to stream download now is the Eternals Theme and Across the Oceans of Time written by the film’s composer Ramin Djawadi (Games of Thrones, Westworld, Clash of the Titans, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, A Wrinkle in Time). The full track list of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film tick, tick… Boom! has been revealed. The album features the songs from the movie written for the stage musical of the same title by Jonathan Larson and performed by cast members including Andrew Garfield, Vanessa Hudgens, Joshua Henry, MJ Rodriguez, Alexandra Shipp & Robin de Jesús  The soundtrack will be released on November 12 by Sony Masterworks and will be available to stream/download here. A CD version will be coming out on December 3 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first track (30/90) was released last month and a second song (Louder Than Words performed by Garfield, Hudgens & Henry) is coming out today (listen to the full track after the jump). Def Jam/Alcon Sleeping Giant (ASG) Records will release a soundtrack album for the Adult Swim & Crunchyroll original animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus. The album features Alessia Cara’s opening titles song Feel You Now (check out the title sequence below), as well as fourteen other songs from the show by artists such as Daya, Tori Kelly, Walk Off the Earth, G-Eazy, Kiana Ledé, Iann Dior, 070 Shake,  salem ilese & others. Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, The Queen, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Godzilla) is attached to score the upcoming biographical drama LEE. The film will be directed by Ellen Kuras (The Betrayal) and star Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Andrea Riseborough and Josh O’Connor. The movie centers on the wartime experiences of Lee Miller who traded a glamorous career as a Vogue cover model for a dangerous career as a WWII photographer who chronicled the fighting on the allied front lines and exposed the atrocities of Hitler’s Nazi Germany.
