The details of the new soundtrack album for the CW drama Stargirl have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, Krypton, McMillions, Us Again, Purl, The Angel). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 2 by WaterTower Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music platforms. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score from Season 1 last year. Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, A Monster Calls, Crimson Peak, Hercules, Devil) is attached to score the upcoming drama The Movie Teller. The film will be directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day) and is set to star Bérénice Bejo and Antonio de la Torre. The movie is based on Hernán Rivera Letelier’s novel of the same title and tells the story a young girl growing up in a mining town in the heart of Chile’s Atacama desert during the 1960s, where a movie house represents the sole distraction for hundreds of working class families. The show is adapted by Patrick Harbinson (Homeland, Fearless) based on Post Mortem, the first in Kate London’s Metropolitan series of novels, and stars Gemma Whelan, Tahirah Sharif, Jimmy Akingbola and Emmett J. Scanlan. The 3-part crime thriller follows Detective Sergeant Sarah Collins, a former Met Police Officer, who is charged to investigate after a veteran beat cop and teenage girl fall to their deaths from a tower block in south-east London, leaving a five-year-old boy and a rookie police officer on the roof, only for them to go missing. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the psychological horror thriller Last Night in Soho co-written and directed by Edgar Wright and starring Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Terence Stamp, Matt Smith, Diana Rigg, Michael Ajao, Rita Tushingham and Synnøve Karlsen. The film’s original score is composed by Steven Price (Gravity, Our Planet, Fury, Over the Moon, Suicide Squad, Baby Driver, The World’s End). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today (click here for the full album details), as well as a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie by artists including Dusty Springfield, The Who, The Walker Brothers, The Kinks, The Searchers & others last week (click here for more information).
Also opening wide is the supernatural horror thriller Antlers co-written and directed by Scott Cooper and starring Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane and Amy Madigan. Javier Navarrete (Pan’s Labyrinth, Wrath of the Titans, Inkheart, Byzantium, Greta, Mirrors, Hemingway & Gellhorn) has composed the film’s original music.
