Premiering today is the Showtime original series The First Lady created by Aaron Cooley, directed by Susanne Bier and starring Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford, Gillian Anderson as Eleanor Roosevelt, as well as Kiefer Sutherland, Aaron Eckhart, Dakota Fanning, Regina Taylor, Lily Rabe and Jayme Lawson. The show’s original music is composed by Geoff Zanelli (Pirates of the Caribbean:Dead Men Tell No Tales, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Into the West, Disturbia, The Intruder, Christopher Robin). The drama, which will air every Sunday on Showtime.
Premiering on Friday is the Apple TV+ docuseries They Call Me Magic directed by Rick Famuyiwa about the life and career of NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Malcolm X, Perry Mason, 25th Hour, Red Tails, Harriet, Da 5 Bloods, Swagger, One Night in Miami…) has composed the show’s original music.
