Atresmedia Música has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish psychological thriller God’s Crooked Lines (Los Renglones Torcidos de Dios). The album features the film’s original music composed by Fernando Velázquez (A Monster Calls, The Impossible, The Orphanage, Mama, Crimson Peak, Devil, Hercules). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Quartet Records has released a limited edition CD version (visit the label’s official website to order). God’s Crooked Lines is co-written and directed by Oriol Paulo and stars Bárbara Lennie, Eduard Fernández, Pablo Derqui, Loreto Mauleón and Adelfa Calvo. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Torcuato Luca de Tena and revolves around a woman believing to be a private investigator who enters a mental hospital voluntarily to find out who murdered the father of an alleged client. Sparks’ Ron & Russell Mael to Develop Movie Musical ‘X Crucior’

Deadline is reporting that the art-pop duo Sparks (Ron & Russell Mael) is developing an original movie musical for Focus Features. The film, entitled X Crucior, will be written and executive produced by the singer/songwriters. No director or plot details have been announced yet. The Sparks Brothers have previously composed the original songs for last year’s musical drama Annette directed by Leos Carax. Simon Franglen has written an original song for James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water. The track, entitled The Songcord, is performed by Zoe Saldana and will be featured in the film starring Sam Worthington, Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet and Stephen Lang. The song and Franglen’s original score from the sequel is expected to be released next month by Hollywood Records. Franglen has previously co-written and -produced the original end credits song I See You (performed by Leona Lewis) from the 2009 Avatar original movie with James Horner and Kuk Harrell (lyrics).
