Deutsche Grammophon will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure adaptation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. The album features the film’s music, which consists of Mozart’s arias and a complementary orchestral score by German composer Martin Stock. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 4 and is now available for pre-order here. A CD version is set to come out on December 16 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Cristal Publishing & Editions Musicales François 1er have released a soundtrack album for the French comedy The Innocent (L’innocent). The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Hetzel (Incendies, Ismael’s Ghosts, My Golden Days, Summertime, Oh, Mercy!, The Midwife). The movie is inspired by the true story of two twin sisters who are training to to become piano soloists at the Karlsruhe Conservatory, when they discover they are suffering from a serious illness which causes them to lose the use of their hands. Latin Grammy Award winner Karol G has recorded an original song for DreamWorks Animation’s feature Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The track, entitled La Vida es Una, is co-written by herself & Daniel Oviedo who also produced the song (as Ovy on the Drums). The movie also features two original songs co-penned by the film’s composer Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions): Fearless Hero (co-written with Dan Navarro & screenwriter Paul Fisher) performed by Antonio Banderas (who stars in the title role) and Por Que Te Vas co-written (with Pereira) and performed by Grammy Award nominee Gaby Moreno. Harmonic Design Records (to be distributed in partnership with Notefornote Music) will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi mystery drama Silent River. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Ralston (Crooked Arrows, Being Rose, Awaken, Don’t Fade Away). The soundtrack will be released on all major digital music platforms next Friday, November 11. The composer’s score has been remixed from the original multi-track audio sessions in the Dolby Atmos surround/spacial audio format and will be available on all platforms that support the format the following Friday, November 18. La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the classic 60s television series 12 O’Clock High created by Sy Bartlett & Beirne Lay Jr. based on the 1949 feature of the same title and starring Robert Lansing, Frank Overton, Paul Burke, Chris Robinson & Barney Phillips as part of the label’s fourth volume of the Quinn Martin Collection. The soundtrack features selections of the original music from the show composed by Emmy Award winner Dominic Frontiere (The Outer Limits, Chisum, Hang ‘Em High, The Stunt Man, Modern Problems, The Aviator, The Invaders). La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2000 fantasy comedy How the Grinch Stole Christmas directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin and Molly Shannon. The album features the remastered and expanded original score from the Universal Pictures production composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Apollo 13, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Field of Dreams, Glory, Aliens), including around 30 minutes of previously unreleased music.
