WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series The Gilded Age. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Mulan, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget) & Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan). Premiering today is the Hulu limited series Faraway Downs co-written and directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Ben Mendelsohn and Brandon Walters and Bryan Brown. The reimagined version of the 2008 feature Australia is scored by Kara Talve (Prehistoric Planet, The Tatooist of Auschwitz, The Simpsons) for Bleeding Fingers Music. Sony Music Australia has released a soundtrack album featuring Budjerah’ & Matt Corb’sy theme song The Way, as well as other songs from the show earlier this week. Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, November 27, is the British miniseries Steeltown Murders written by Ed Whitmore and starring Philip Glenister, Steffan Rhodri, Keith Allen, Sharon Morgan, Scott Arthur, Siôn Alun Davies and Priyanga Burford. Sarah Warne (Humans, Time, Des, The Drowning, Hollington Drive, Dark Money) has composed the show’s original music. Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past June. The film’s original songs are written by Julia Michaels & Benjamin Rice and the movie’s original score is composed by Dave Metzger (Brother Bear 2, Tarzan & Jane). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs last week and has also released a separate deluxe edition featuring both songs and score on Wednesday. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1969 spy thriller Topaz directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring Frederick Stafford, Dany Robin, John Vernon, Claude Jade, Karin Dor, Michel Subor, Michel Piccoli and Philippe Noiret. The album, which is being released as the 18th title of Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection, features the film’s expanded and remastered (and in stereo for the first time) original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Maurice Jarre (Lawrence of Arabia, Ghost, Doctor Zhivago, Gorillas in the Mist, No Way Out, Witness, Jacob’s Ladder), including previously unreleased music. The CD is limited to 2,000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.
