Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Noah, Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, Rebecca, Moon, Stoker) has recently been scoring the upcoming thriller Love Lies Bleeding. The film is directed by Rose Glass (Saint Maud) and stars Kristen Stewart, Katy O’Brian, Jena Malone, Dave Franco, Anna Baryshnikov and Ed Harris. The movie follows a reclusive gym manager who falls hard for an ambitious bodybuilder headed through town to Vegas in pursuit of her dream, when they are pulled into a web of crime. D36 has released a soundtrack album for the Pakistani drama Joyland. The album features the film’s original score composed by Abdullah Siddiqui. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Joyland is written and directed by Saim Sadiq and stars Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, Sarwat Gilani, Alina Khan and Salmaan Peerzada. The movie tells the story of the youngest son in a traditional Pakistani family who takes a job as a backup dancer in a burlesque and quickly becomes infatuated with the trans woman who runs the show. Premiering on Wednesday, December 20, is the Disney+ original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians developed by Rick Riordan & Jonathan E. Steinberg based on Riordan’s book series and starring Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri. Bear McCreary (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Outlander, The Walking Dead) has composed the themes for the show and Sparks & Shadows have provided the score. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album this coming Friday, December 22. Premiering on Thursday, December 21, is the second season of the Peacock original anthology series Dr. Death written by Ashley Michel Hoban based on the Wondery podcast and starring Edgar Ramírez, Mandy Moore, Luke Kirby, Gustaf Hammarsten and Ashley Madekwe. The show’s original music is composed by Leopold Ross (Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, The Book of Eli, Death Note, Dispatches from Everywhere) & Nick Chuba (The Girl from Plainville, Operation Varsity Blues) who previously co-scored Season 1 with Atticus Ross. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kevin Riepl (Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Green Lantern: Beware My Power, Cabin Fever, Justice Society: World War II, The Night Crew). The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 9, 2023 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths – Part One is directed by Jeff Wamester and features the voices of Darren Criss as Superman, Stana Katic as Wonder Woman & Superwoman and Jensen Ackles as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The Warner Bros. Animation, DC and Warner Bros. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the musical fantasy adventure Wonka directed by Paul King and starring Timothée Chalamet, Calah Lane, Hugh Grant, Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Sally Hawkins, Jim Carter and Olivia Colman. The film’s original songs are written by Neil Hannon (of The Divine Comedy) and the movie’s original score is composed by Joby Talbot (Sing, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Closed Circuit, Penelope). Opening in select theaters today before expanding to more markets next Friday, December 22, is the satire American Fiction written and directed by Cord Jefferson and starring Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, Sterling K. Laura Karpman (The Marvels, What If…?, Ms. Marvel, Lovecraft Country, Underground, Taken, Set It Up) has composed the film’s original music. Interscope Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the film adaptation of the stage musical Mean Girls. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is Not My Fault performed by Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion who are also credited for co-producing/writing the track with Jeff Richmond, Nell Benjamin, Billy Walsh, Ryan Tedder, Alexander 23, Jasper Harris and Alexander Glantz.
