Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the Swedish Netflix original film Stolen (Stöld). The album features the movie’s original music composed by Lasse Enersen (Tom of Finland, Legend of the Ancient Sword, The Abyss, There’s Something in the Barn,Cold Courage, The Misfits) & Henri Vartio (The Redeemers). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also check out the composers’ first track (Evil and Good) below. Stolen is directed by Elle Márjá Eira and stars Elin Kristina Oskal, Martin Wallström, Lars-Ánte Wasara, Risten-Alida Siri Skum, Magnus Kuhmunen and Anne Lajla Westerfjell Kalstad. The thriller follows young woman from Sweden’s Indigenous Sámi community tracks as she down a killer to settle a personal score.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (September 14, 2012)
Two new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the video game adaptation sequel Resident Evil: Retribution directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, Sienna Guillory, Johann Urb, Li Bingbing, Shawn Roberts, Kevin Durand, Oded Fehr, Boris Kodjoe and Michelle Rodriguez. The film’s score is composed by tomandandy (The Strangers) who have scored the previous installment in the series. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer duo’s score, as well the end credits song Hexes produced by Bassnectar featuring Chino Moreno (of the Deftones) on vocals. Also opening wide is the 3D re-release of Pixar’s animated hit feature Finding Nemo directed by Andrew Stanton and featuring the voice talent of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks and Alexander Gould. The film’s music is composed by Thomas Newman who received an Academy Award-nomination for his work on the film. No new soundtrack has been released, but the original 2003 album is still in print (click here to download the album). Playing in front of Finding Nemo 3D is the new Toy Story short Partysaurus Rex, which features music by BT (The Fast and the Furious).
Mark Isham to Score Simon West’s ‘Stolen’
Mark Isham has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Stolen. The project marks the second collaboration between the composer and director Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider) who previously worked together on the Jason Statham-starring action film The Mechanic, which was released earlier this year. Stolen (which was recently renamed from its original title Medallion) stars Nicolas Cage as a former criminal who has to track down his kidnapped daughter who has been locked in the trunk of a taxi cab in New York City. Malin Akerman, Josh Lucas, Danny Huston, Mark Valley and M.C. Gainey are co-starring. David Guggenheim (Safe House) has written the script and Matthew Joynes and Jesse Kennedy are producing the Nu Image/Millennium Films production.
