Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the romantic drama The Lucky One based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, directed by Scott Hicks (Shine) and starring Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner. The film’s original score is written by Mark Isham. No score album has been announced yet, but WaterTower Music hss released a soundtrack album featuring the movie’s songs by artists including Jules Larson, Correatown, Joshua Radin, Early Winters, Voxhaul Broadcast, A Fine Frenzy and Mayfield. Also opening wide is the romantic comedy Think Like a Man directed by Tim Story and starring Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union, Jerry Ferrara, Regina Hall, Terrence J. and Romany Malco. Christopher Lennertz has composed the film’s score. A soundtrack album featuring the comedy’s title song performed by Jennifer Hudson & Ne-Yo feat. Rick Ross, as well as other songs from and inspired by the film by artists including John Legend feat. ‘The Lucky One’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack for the romance The Lucky One have been revealed. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Jules Larson, Correatown, Joshua Radin, Early Winters, Voxhaul Broadcast, A Fine Frenzy, Mayfield, Ponderosa, Terrance Simien, Hilmar and Brandi Carlile. The soundtrack will be released on April 17, 2012 by Watertower Music, both digitally and as an Amazon on demand CD-R. None of Mark Isham’s original score from the movie is included on the album. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out below. The Lucky One based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) is directed by Scott Hicks and stars Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner. The drama will be released nationwide on April 20, 2012.

Watertower Music to Release ‘The Lucky One’ Soundtrack

Watertower Music will be releasing the official soundtrack album for the romantic drama The Lucky One. The album includes the songs featured in the film. No word yet on whether any of Mark Isham’s original score from the film will be on the soundtrack. The album will be released on April 17, 2012. Mark Isham to Score Simon West’s ‘Stolen’

Mark Isham has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Stolen. The project marks the second collaboration between the composer and director Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider) who previously worked together on the Jason Statham-starring action film The Mechanic, which was released earlier this year. Stolen (which was recently renamed from its original title Medallion) stars Nicolas Cage as a former criminal who has to track down his kidnapped daughter who has been locked in the trunk of a taxi cab in New York City. Malin Akerman, Josh Lucas, Danny Huston, Mark Valley and M.C. Gainey are co-starring. David Guggenheim (Safe House) has written the script and Matthew Joynes and Jesse Kennedy are producing the Nu Image/Millennium Films production.

Mark Isham has recently recorded his score for the upcoming drama The Lucky One. The composer has taken over scoring duties from Hal Lindes who was originally attached to write the music for the film as reported earlier this year. The movie based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John) follows a Marine who survives three tours in Iraq and attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried of a woman he has never met. He sets out to meet his good-luck charm when he returns to North Carolina. The drama starring Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner is directed by Scott Hicks (Hearts in Atlantis, The Boys Are Back).

The film based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John) centers on a Marine who survives three tours in Iraq and attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried of a woman he has never met. He sets out to meet his good-luck charm when he returns to North Carolina. The movie stars Zac Efron, Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner. The film is directed by Scott Hicks who collaborated with Lindes on his last movie, The Boys Are Back starring Clive Owen.
