The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan (who also wrote the screenplay) and stars Dakota Fanning and Georgina Campbell. Shine and follows a 28-year old artist who gets stranded in an untouched forest in western Ireland, where she finds shelter and becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night. Pulitzer Prize- & Grammy Award winning composer Caroline Shaw (Fleishman Is in Trouble, The Sky Is Everywhere, Madeline Madeline) has recorded original music for the upcoming documentary Leonardo da Vinci. The 2-part, four hour film is directed by Ken Burns (Brooklyn Bridge, The Statue of Liberty, The Vietnam War), Sarah Burns (Muhammad Ali) & David McMahon (The Central Park Five) and explores the life and work of the titular 15th century polymath. Shaw’s score is performed by Attacca Quartet, Sō Percussion and Roomful of Teeth. Italian actor Adriano Giannini is voicing Leonardo and Keith David serves as the narrator of the movie, which brings da Vinci’s achievements to life through his personal notebooks, primary and secondary accounts of his life, and on-camera interviews with modern scholars, engineers, artists, inventors, and admirers.
