Relativity Music Group has announced a soundtrack album for the dramedy Beginners. The album includes the original score by Roger Neill, David Palmer and Brian Reitzell. Also featured on the soundtrack are several songs from the movie from artists including Hoagy Carmichael, Gene Austin, Josephine Baker and Jolly Roll Morton. Paul Englishby is the composer of the upcoming political thriller Page Eight. The BBC production centers on a long-serving M15 officer who is forced to quit his job in order to find the truth behind a mystery file which threatens its stability. The movie stars Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Felicity Jones, Judy Davis and Ewen Bremner. Page Eight is written and directed by Oscar-nominated screenwriter David Hare (The Reader, The Hours) who wrote his first original (non-adapted) script in 20 years for the project. Scott Rudin (The Social Network, No Country for Old Men) is acting as one for the film’s executive producer. The project marks Englishby’s first high profile feature project since he scored the 2009 Academy Award-nominated drama An Education starring Carey Mulligan, Peter Sarsgaard and Alfred Molina. Madison Gate Records has announced a soundtrack release for the action horror thriller Priest. The album includes Christopher Young’s original score from the film. The score was recorded with 83 piece orchestra and a 32 member choir. The album will be released tomorrow, May 10 and is available to order as an on demand CD-R on Amazon. William Ross has been hired to score the comedy A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas. The second sequel in the series is directed by Todd Strauss-Schulson and Kal Penn, John Cho and Neil Patrick Harris are reprising their roles from the previous movies. They are joined by new cast members Patton Oswalt, Tom Lennon and Danny Trejo. Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are once again writing the screenplay and Greg Shapiro returns as the producer. The movie follows the pair on a journey through New York City on Christmas Eve in search of the perfect Christmas tree after inadvertently burning down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize tree. Brian Byrne is scoring the upcoming drama Albert Nobbs. The movie stars Glenn Close as a woman who must pass as a man to survive life in 19th century Ireland. Close also co-wrote the script based on a short story by Irish author George Moore and makes her feature producing debut on the project. Mia Wasikowska, Aaron Johnson, Janet McTeer, Brendan Gleeson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are co-starring. Max Richter has recently been working on the score for the sci-fi movie The Congress. The project reunites Richter with director Ari Folman who previously collaborated with the composer on the Academy Award-nominated animated documentary Waltz with Bashir. The film is an adaptation of the novella The Congress from sci-fi writer Stanislaw Lem (Solaris) and will be half live action and half 2D animation. Robin Wright stars as a struggling actress who is offered one last job by a major studio. They want to scan her body, own her image and likeness and use it anyway they want, with the catch being that she will never be able to act again.
