Philippe Rombi is reuniting with director Francois Ozon on his upcoming thriller Dans la maison. The movie is based on Spanish playwright Juan Mayorga’s work The Boy in the Last Row and stars Kristin Scott Thomas, Fabrice Luchini, Emmanuelle Seigner and Denis Menochet. The film centers on a professor and a student who comes to threaten the relationships of those around them. The thriller is produced by Eric and Nicolas Altmayer for Mandarin Cinema and Claudie Ossard (Amelie, Delicatessen). Rombi has worked with the director on most of his features projects, including last year’s Potiche, Angel and Swimming Pool. The 12-minute video includes interviews with composer John Williams, as well as sound designer and re-recording mixer Gary Rydstrom. Check out the full video after the jump. Six movies are opening nationwide this holiday weekend. Three movies already opened on Wednesday and two films will be receiving a wide release on Christmas Day.

Among the December 21 releases is the thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo directed by David Fincher and starring Rooney Mara, Daniel Craig, Christopher Plummer, Robin Wright, Stellan Skarsgard and Joely Richardson. The film’s music is written by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Reznor’s label Null Records has released a number of different soundtrack editions, including a 6-track sampler, which can be downloaded for free on the label’s website. Also already out in wide release is Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin produced by Peter Jackson and starring Simon Pegg, Daniel Craig, Cary Elwes and Andy Serkis. John Williams has written the music for the animated film. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score has been released by Sony Classical. The details of the soundtrack album for Stephen Daldry’s Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close have been revealed. The album includes 18 tracks from the film’s original score composed by Alexandre Desplat. As previously announced, the soundtrack is scheduled to be released on CD on January 17, 2012 by WaterTower Music. The album has been released digitally this week and is now available to download on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks on the album after the jump. David Wingo to Score Jeff Nichols’ ‘Mud’

David Wingo is set to score the upcoming drama Mud. The movie is written and directed by Jeff Nichols and stars Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Tye Sheridan, Sarah Paulson, Michael Shannon and Sam Shephard. The film revolves around two teenage boys who encounter a mysterious fugitive hiding out on an island in the Mississippi and enter into a pact to help him escape and reconnect with the love of his life. Lisa Maria Falcone (Win Win, Mother and Child), Aaron Ryder (The Prestige) and Sarah Green (The Tree of Life, The New World) are producing the FilmNation and Everest Entertainment production. Wingo has previously scored Nichols’ Take Shelter, which opened in theaters this past October and has received a number of critics awards for Michael Shannon’s lead performance. Paramount Pictures has recently unveiled a new logo to commemorate the studio’s 100th anniversary in 2012. The logo first appears in front of Brad Bird’s Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, which opened in select theaters last weekend and was released nationwide yesterday. Michael Giacchino has written the music for the logo sequence. Apart from the fourth Mission: Impossible movie, the composer also scored the studio’s J.J. Abrams-directed Super 8 this past year. The new logo will be attached to all movies from the studio throughout 2012 and the plan is that the 100th anniversary portion will be removed with the rest of the logo remaining attached to future Paramount releases after 2012. Lakeshore Records has revealed the track list of the soundtrack for the action horror sequel Underworld Awakening. The album includes songs from the movie by artists including Evanescence, Linkin Park, The Cure, Ministry, Lacuna Coil, Black Light Burns, William Control, Civil Twilight, Combichrist and Collide. The soundtrack is scheduled to be released on January 17, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available below. The label will also be releasing a separate soundtrack album, featuring the score from the film composed by Paul Haslinger in January. ‘Haywire’ Soundtrack Announced

The details for the soundtrack for Steven Soderbergh’s action thriller Haywire have been revealed. The album features 18 tracks from the movie’s original score by composer David Holmes (Oceans’s Trilogy, Out of Sight). Relativity Music Group will be releasing the soundtrack in the US and Silva Screen Records is handling the release overseas. The teaser trailer for Peter Jackson’s upcoming fantasy film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey premiered last night and features new original music composed Howard Shore, including what appears to be a new theme.
