‘Sparkle’ Score Album Released

Madison Gate Records has released a score album for the musical drama Sparkle. The album features the film’s original score composed by Salaam Remi. The soundtrack is now available digitally on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. A CD-R version is available to order on Amazon. A separate soundtrack album featuring the film’s songs by Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks and CeeLo Green was released this summer. Check out our previous article for the full details. Sparkle directed by Salim Akil (Jumping The Broom) and starring Jordin Sparks, Whitney Houston, Derek Luke, Mike Epps, Omari Hardwick and CeeLo Green opened in theaters this summer and will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on November 30. Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

One of the most talked about and ambitious film of the season is the epic adventure drama Cloud Atlas directed by Tom Tykwer and Andy & Lana Wachowski and starring Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D’Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon and Hugh Grant. The film’s music is composed by Tom Tykwer, Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the score earlier this week. Also opening wide is the horror sequel Silent Hill: Revelation 3D based on the video game, directed by Michael J. Bassett and starring Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger, Radha Mitchell, Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell. Jeff Danna and Akira Yamaoka who preciously scored the first installment in the series have written the music for the film. James Newton Howard has signed on to score the upcoming fantasy movie Maleficent. The film marks the directorial debut of Academy Award-winning production designer Robert Stromberg (Avatar, Alice in Wonderland) and stars Angelina Jolie as the green-skinned wicked witch from Disney’s 1959 animated feature Sleeping Beauty. The movie tells the fairy tale from the perspective of Aurora’s evil nemesis, revealing the back story that led her to curse the girl as a baby. Elle Fanning portrays Princess Aurora and Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton are also starring. Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Park Chan-wook’s psychological trailer Stoker. The album features the film’s original score composed by Clint Mansell, an original song by Emily Wells and additional music by Philip Glass. The soundtrack will be released on February 26, 2013. Stoker starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, Dermot Mulroney and Jacki Weaver centers on a teenage girl who must deal with the unexpected appearance of a mysterious uncle following the death of her father. A.R. Rahman and Tuomas Kantelinen have been tapped to score the fantasy action adventure The Seventh Son. The film is directed by Sergei Bodrov and stars Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Antje Traue, Olivia Williams and Djimon Hounsou. The film is based on the young adult series The Spook’s Apprentice by Joseph Delaney and follows a teen who’s the seventh son of a seventh son, and who learns about wizardry from a forbidding spook. Matt Greenberg (1408), Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond) and Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband) have written the screenplay. Thomas Tull (Pacific Rim), Basil Iwanyk (The TownClash of the Titans) and Lionel Wigram (Sherlock Holmes) are producing the Legendary Pictures and Thunder Road Pictures production. Big Sounds International has released a soundtrack album for the indie romantic comedy Celeste and Jesse Forever. The album features the film’s songs by artists including Lily Allen, Brenda Russell, Vetiver, Mr. Little Jeans, Shabazz Palaces and Boogaloo Assassins, as well as two songs by Sunny Levine who also co-scored the film with DJ Zach Cowie (also known as Turquoise Wisdom). None of the film’s score is included on the soundtrack, which is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. Celeste and Jesse Forever is directed by Lee Toland Krieger and written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack who are also starring in the film alongside Andy Samberg, Chris Messina, Emma Roberts, Ari Graynor and Elijah Wood. Labelzero has released a soundtrack album for the French action romantic comedy Fly Me to the Moon (Un plan parfait). The album features the film’s original score composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Time Machine). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon or for the price of your choice in the label’s online store. The soundtrack will also be released on CD, Music DVD and Music Blu-Ray on November 1, 2012. Fly Me to the Moon is directed by Pascal Chaumail who previously worked with Badelt on Heartbreaker and stars Diane Kruger and Dany Boon. The movie follows a successful woman in love who tries to break her family curse of every first marriage ending in divorce, by dashing to the alter with a random stranger before marrying her boyfriend. Ennio Morricone is set to score the upcoming animated feature The Cantervile Ghost. The movie is directed by Kim Burden and features the voice talent of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie. The Memoth Films and Arc Productions project is based on the classic story by Oscar Wilde and is written by Keiron Self and Giles New (That Mitchell And Webb Look). Robert Chandler and Gina Carter (Snow Cake) are producing the movie. Arc Productions has previously been involved in animated films including Gnomeo & Juliet and 9, as well as last year’s family hit film Dolphin Tale. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 30, 2012. A physical release is scheduled to come out in December and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ‘Red Dawn’ Soundtrack Details

The details for the soundtrack album for the action adventure movie Red Dawn have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Game of Thrones). The soundtrack will be released on November 19, 2012 by Sony Masterworks and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out below. Red Dawn is directed by Dan Bradley and stars Chris Hemsworth, Josh Peck, Josh Hutcherson, Adrianne Palicki, Isabel Lucas, Connor Cruise and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The film is a remake of the 1984 feature directed by John Milius and follows a group of teenagers who have to save their town from an invasion of Chinese and Russian soldiers.
