The film stars Edward James Olmos, LisaGay Hamilton, Yolonda Ross, Harold Perrineau, Hector Elizondo and Isaiah Washington. The movie follows two friends who lose track of each other for twenty years and are reunited when one of them is assigned as the parole officer for the other, who is fresh out of prison and fighting heroin addiction. Sayles has also written the screenplay and Alejandro Springall, Peter Bobrow and Edward James Olmos are producing. place-at-the-table1-2-3-4-GO! Records will release a soundtrack for the documentary A Place at the Table. The album features the film’s music composed by The Civil Wars & T Bone Burnett. The soundtrack will be released on February 26, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A Place at the Table directed by Kristi Jacobson (Toots) and Lori Silverbush examines the issue of hunger in America through the lens of three people struggling with food insecurity. The film features Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio, actor Jeff Bridges, and more. The movie premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked by Magnolia Pictures. Kelley and starring Alfred Molina, Ving Rhames, ​Jamie Bamber, ​Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao and Emily Swallow. The show’s music is composed by Danny Lux (Grey’s Anatomy) who has previously worked with Kelley on such shows as Ally McBeal and Boston Legal. safe-haven-scoreRelativity Music Group will release a score album for Lasse Hallstrom’s romantic drama Safe Haven. The album features the film’s original score composed by Deborah Lurie who previously collaborated with the director on Dear John and An Unfinished Life. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 12, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. As previously reported, Republic Records will also release a soundtrack featuring the songs from the film. Safe Haven is based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) and stars Josh Duhamel, Julianne Hough, David Lyons, Cobie Smulders and Noah Lomax. The other contenders in the category were Alexandre Desplat for Rise of the Guardians, Bruce Retief for Adventures in Zambezia, Joel McNeely, Brendan Milburn & Valerie Vigoda for Secret of the Wings, John Powell, Adam Schlesinger & Ester Dean for Ice Age: Continental Drift, John Powell & Cinco Paul for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Mark Mothersbaugh for Hotel Transylvania and Patrick Doyle, Mark Andrews & Alex Mandel for Brave. David Newman to Score ‘Tarzan’ 3D

tarzanDavid Newman has officially signed on to score the upcoming 3D animated feature Tarzan. The film is directed by Reinhard Klooss and features the voice talent of Kellan Lutz, Spencer Locke, Anton Zetterholm, Mark Deklin, Trevor St. John and Jaime Ray Newman. The updated version of the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs tale is written by Klooss, Jessica Postigo (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) and Yoni Brenner (Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs). Klooss is also producing the Constantin Film and Ambient Entertainment production with Robert Kulzer (Resident Evil series, Wrong Turn). Martin Moszckovicz (Carnage) is executive producing. Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:

warm-bodiesExpected to top the weekend box office is the zombie romance Warm Bodies directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, Rob Corddry, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton and John Malkovich. The film’s music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, 3:10 to Yuma) and Buck Sanders (The Hurt LockerMax Payne). Despite featuring a significant amount of original score, as well as numerous songs, no soundtrack album has been announced at this point. bullet-to-the-headAlso opening wide is the action thriller Bullet to the Head directed by Walter Hill and starring Sylvester Stallone, Sung Kang, Jason Momoa, Sarah Shahi and Christian Slater. Steve Mazzaro has composed the film’s original score and Hans Zimmer has produced the music. A soundtrack album featuring Mazzaro’s score has been released earlier digitally this week and will be coming out on February 19 on CD by Varese Sarabande. The film is directed by Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer) and stars Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake, Gemma Arterton, Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper, Michael Esper and Ben Schwartz. The movie follows a young man cheated out of his tuition money playing online poker who flies to Costa Rica in the hope of reclaiming his losses from the site’s billionaire owner and ends up becoming the corrupt CEO’s right-hand man. Brian Koppelman & David Levien (Rounders, Runaway Jury) are producing New Regency Pictures production with Leonardo DiCaprio & Jennifer Davisson Killoran (The Ides of March, Orphan) for Appian Way and Michael Shamberg & Stacey Sher (Django Unchained, Contagion) for Double Feature Films. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christopher Lennertz (Revolution, Think Like a Man). Also included is a cover of James Brown’s The Payback performed by Amanda Brown and a song by Ty Taylor. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 5, 2013 by Back Lot Music. Participants include composer Terence Blanchard, composer Mark Isham and director George Tillman, Jr. whose drama The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete premiered at the festival, composer Ludwig Goransson and writer/director Ryan Cogler whose feature Fruitvale received the top Sundance honor and was picked up for distribution by The Weinstein Company, composer Rob Simonsen and director James Ponsoldt whose coming of age drama The Spectacular Now was acquired by A24 for a theatrical release (Simonsen also scored the comedy The Way, Way Back, which was picked up by Fox Searchlight as the biggest sale at the festival), composer Abel Korzeniowski and director Randy Moore who worked together on the controversial Disney theme park-set Escape from Tomorrow, composer Dustin O’Halloran who scored the indie drama Breathe In, his second project for Drake Doremus following Like Crazy and composer Craig Wedren and director Jill Solloway who collaborated on the comedy Afternoon Delight.
